Hernando County Parks & Recreation Department of Henderson County, Fla., manages a park system of more than 20 developed parks on 340-plus acres and more than 945 acres of open space. The various county parks support a wide array of recreational activities, from passive casual strolling to active sports such as baseball, soccer, boating and swimming. Hernando County Parks & Recreation Department oversees several parks, such as those with gulf and beach access and boat launches, community parks throughout the county offering activities for citizens of all ages, a central district park hosting baseball and soccer events, a regional park with horseback riding trails and river access facilities on the Withlacoochee River. The department s office is located in Breooksville, Fla.
