When removing a tree, there are many options. Below we have detailed one proceedure on a drawing. Control is what this proceedure is about. It is not sufficient to allow gravity to have its way with a removal operation. There are frequently things of value under the tree. "Fences and bushes don't count" is not an acceptable approach to a tree removal operation.

A frequent question is how we plan to do the job. The drawings below are a generalization of our process. The tree can look different, but the process is always the same. When removing a tree, there are many options. Below we have detailed one proceedure on a drawing. Control is what this proceedure is about. It is not sufficient to allow gravity to have its way with a removal operation. There are frequently things of value under the tree. "Fences and bushes don't count" is not an acceptable approach to a tree removal operation.
Stump Grinding and Removal
This tree was removed due to inevitable failure at the base of the tree. The cracks extended from where the majority of the branches were attached to the ground. The price was for removal, cleanup and stump grinding. In our policy, wood > 3" in diameter is not removed. When we price bradford pears and smaller trees, we generally include disposal of the wood. Pricing for the removal of bradford pears is based on the amount of material that needs to be handled and disposed of rather than technical skill. If a lead has split and is laying on the ground, the price will be the same. The only factor that would increase the price is if a broken portion is on something of value and thus would require additional time to remove without causing further damage. Estimate Gallery

Tree Pruning and Trimming
Tree pruning Tree pruning services have a degree of art and science involved. It is always recommended that 20 percent or less be removed during a tree pruning operation. Clearance issues should be approached very cautiously. It is advised that you only clear from a structure or thoroughfare about 4 feet. Further clearance will likely involve doing significant damage to the tree. Thinning to reduce leverage on a limb or to improve air flow should also be approached cautiously. Over thinning can result in future damage from the wind to the tree being worked on or in surrounding trees. This point is currently being researched, but we have seen damage caused by over zealous pruning. Pruning to improve branch structure, remove dead branches or to elevate can be performed at any time. Pruning during the dormant season is preferred, mainly due to better visibility of branch structure. The only time of the year that we do not do pruning operations is when the buds are beginning to swell in the early spring. After the leaves are fully expanded, it is not a problem for the tree to do it's internal repairing after the pruning cuts are made. Generally, pruning sealants are not used. Climbing gaffs are NEVER used during a pruning operation. Best practices are utilized always. One of the most important things about pruning is that you should not be able to see where the changes were made. If the tree looks "pruned" it probably was not done correctly. The Procedure. Tree Mulching
Below you may find a situation similar to yours. Complete job cost given for the operation. Removal includes grinding of the stump and disposal of all materials except stump grindings (use as mulch for beds). Pruning includes thorough cleanup and disposal of material. SNOW REMOVAL: Snow will be removed to nearly the surface It is recommended that snow removal be prearranged so that areas where snow will be piled are known. In the event that those areas are not prearranged, the company will make a best guess. There will be additional charges if it becomes necessary to move pilled snow. It is recommended that plowed surfaces be sanded or chemically treated to improve safety. Sand and chemical will be used sparingly. Removal will commence at 2" accumulation. Unless otherwise specified removal will commence within 4 hours of a 2" accumulation.
