ATTENTION!!!!!!🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑
This is real life and actually happened to me: I was experiencing some very minor problems with my Dodge Journey like an occasional hiccup and the airbag light coming on and off. I took my SUV to Mak Haik Dodge and Jeep in Flowood on Lakeland Dr and please keep in mind I have a bumper to bumper warranty on my SUV. They told me the hiccup was a cause of needing new spark plugs, air filter and a tune up, my airbag light was a cause of the passenger seatbelt that needed replacing all of which was not covered by my warranty and told me the total cost to have all that done was over $900 and charged me $140 just to tell me that. I was livid over the fact that I bought this $2,500 warranty that wasn’t going to cover the only problem that I ever had with my SUV. So I went to Grey Daniels Nissan in Brandon and wanted to know why my $1000 problems weren’t going to be covered. The financial department was so nice to be despite how upset I was and told me to bring my SUV to them and regardless of if it’s covered by warranty or not they would look at it for free to make sure what they said was what was actually wrong with it and if it was try to get warranty to cover it. So I brought my car to Rick at the service department this morning and before lunch he called me to tell me they unhooked the seatbelt and hooked it back up and the code it threw went away so it just came loose most likely because of Jackson pot holes and also said my car had 100,000 mile spark plugs and were totally fine and there was nothing wrong with my air filter but they cleaned it out just to make sure and the random hiccups just happen to be something that 4 cylinder cars do from time to time when the gears shift and unless it actually jerks there’s nothing to worry about that the hiccups don’t cause any problems or damage to the car and they did all this and didn’t charge me anything. Now had I not known that me and Firestone have a great relationship and they help me make sure my car is up to date on everything and researched what they were telling me they would have cheated me out of $1,000 instead of the $140 they got from me for work that never needed to be done on my car. Oh and by the way the $400 Mak Haik claimed it would cost me to replace the seatbelt Grey Daniels Nissan said they would never charge that much to replace a seatbelt. Also the $581 they wanted to charge me for the “tune up” Firestone said the most it would cost is $300 but since I take my car to Firestone for maintenance they were also convinced I didn’t need it and was being ripped off. So the moral of my story is NEVER take your car to Mak Haik unless you want to be ripped off. Just go to Grey Daniels Nissan and ask for Rick and tell him I highly recommend them to work on your car because I promise they aren’t there to sell you repairs that you don’t need.

Garrick was one of the best people to work with. He was more than a salesperson. He understood what we were looking for in a vehicle, he was very knowledgeable, but hassling for a sale was NOT his top priority. Meeting our needs with the best product was! Each person worked as a team to satisfy our wants and needs. I highly recommend Garrick and the Gray-Daniels Team.

So far all I have had is phone contact.. but much nicer than the other choice. All I can do is to let plp know about the bad experience at the other Nissan dealer in Meridian.



New South needs new employees.. I have spoken top the owner and he sound very caring. Just not sure why he can't see all the problems more plp need to speak up!



New South Experiences:.

I have been to this dealer 4 times for service and more than I can count trying to get service set up.

The 1st time was for a recall on my nissan truck. Many things went wrong from the very start. The rep ordered the part and would call when it came in so I waited a few days and called to see if it was there ... it was not ordered!! Okay so now the part was ordered and once again they will call upon arrival of the part. Waiting Waiting .. Left town for 3 weeks on vacation. Come home and called they sent the part back because we did not have the repair done in a timely manner!!! ( I was waiting on the call.) Reordered part took it in.. "we will call you when it's ready", the end of the day came no call. So I called they did not have it ready. The job should have taken 2 hrs (per the rep) I dropped it off early that morning there was no reason not to have to finished. They had the truck for 2 whole days. (AND they do not offer "loaner" cars!!!)

This is also true about the 2nd trip in only for the fuel pump they did order the part when they said they did and they didn't return the part. Still no respect for the time of others!!

Oh don't think I'm stopping there ...

One of the back seat belts on my 06 Ford Focus stopped latching, so I called to get price of part and job ...$60 - 75 for part and install doesn't include tax.. Ok we can do that .. ordered the part and WAITED on a call .. tried to call a few times, left some messages (not returned), had front desk walk over some messages (not returned)! So I load up the 3 kids inwhich one had to sit in the front due to the seat belt (VERY UNSAFE) and drove over. The guy was nice so I tried to be. He asked me to come back in a few days. Sir, it is unsafe fro me to drive over with the kids buckled like this.. and I continued to explain the phone calls I had made. (he was still very nice even as I started to rant) Finally the part arrive after the same BS for about another week and half.. got it fixed .. got the bill $$314.00 .. OHHH NO .. So what do I do we can not pay that? SO I called him out on it he took the labor off and I still paid twice as much as I should have.

So now we are at the latest recall on this truck, whick has become a very bitter love/ hate relationship ... love the truck hating Nissan right about now!!! This dealer ship does not understand people have a life and better things to do than call everyday waiting on a part!!! I have called everyday for about 2 1/2 weeks for this part so I could make an appt. I called today and they have the part and the job takes about 3 hrs. The rep stated they have ten parts and can only do 2 a day. Okay I get that. So call I make an appt. for Friday, because that would be perfect for me? My little girl goes to school until 1 pm on Friday and I can take the baby to the mall for a few hrs (It's a 10 min walk). NOPE they don't make appts. So they pretty much want you to call to see if they have a part for your truck drive to the other side of town and wait to see if they can get you in.. they will drop you off somewhere or take you home but that still leaves you with no transportation a place where there is no city transport system and no way to do take care of other things that may have been planned on any given day.





I know my grammar and sentence form may be off a lot. I am by far not a writer and a just a little heated and the moment. I hope you find this is helpful.
