Overall

5-14-14 Since Marv died, this shop is being run by some real shady guys. Marv promised to redo some touch up they screwed up on my car and they put me off for 5 mos. after he died, all the while promising to take care of it. Then then took the car for a week, sanded out the damaged spot (hiding their crappy work) and then refused to paint unless I paid them $100 more. NEVER NEVER USE THEM FOR AUTO PAINTING.

Overall

This review is for the Bradenton, Fl Maaco shop, which we hired in August, 2013 to paint my husband's 1999 Tacoma.

When I called Maaco, what impressed me right away was how polite their manager, Marv, was over the phone. I was originally going to just paint the hood and the roof, which had faded a bit. I felt so comfortable speaking with Marv, however, that I decided to paint the whole truck, and fix a few minor dings at the same time. The price he quoted me was close to what the other shops wanted just to paint the hood and top. My decision was mostly made, however, by Marv's professional and friendly manor. He was just as polite and nice in person-- really a genuine pleasure to do business with. If you have kids, bring them to the shop with you, and he will introduce them to the stray bunnies he lovingly cares for in the shop's yard.

The truck was finished on schedule, but when we picked it up there was a bit of overspray on the top. I can see how it had been missed, but my husband saw it right away as he is quite tall and has a sharp eye. We brought it back the next day, and Marv had it fixed, with no charge of course. What matters to me is not that it wasn't perfect the first time, but that the oversight was promptly corrected with a smile. I think you can trust them with your business, and to make sure you are ultimately happy. Our truck now looks quite nice, and the total price for the paint job with dent repair was just under 1,000.00. We consider it a very good deal and would do it over again. Thank you, Marv, for being a pleasure to do business with.

Overall

When they painted my bumpers, they broke the clips on the back bumper and they broke the emblem holders on the front bumper and the emblem itself was snapped. Granted they say they are not responsible for that, but.... for nearly $300 for painting two bumpers I figured that they could remove the emblem. Now the emblem is snapped and the retaining washers that hold them on are snapped. Not happy at all. Now, to me, this is just careless. Responsible or not, it is only good business to be careful with the emblems and at least not break them; they are not that hard to remove. It certainly says something about how they take care of their customers and do business. The paint job was just okay, it is not quite right in a few spots, and with the emblems broken I am very unhappy.
