General Info

Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dr. Joe R. Nielsen earned his medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in 1984 and completed an internship at Oregon Health Science University in Portland the following year. It was during that time he met his wife Sylvia. Following his internship, Dr. Nielsen completed a three-year residency in Dermatology at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque; he then passed the Board Certifying Exam for Dermatology.
