Door Installation/Replacement
Our factory trained employees will install your windows and doors with the best standardized practices known in the industry. All of our windows and doors are sealed with premium sealants to form a weather barrier against the exterior.
Drywalls
Pocket replacements are what most New Jersey window replacement companies are pushing. These types of windows are installed inside of the existing old wood window frame. There is nothing wrong with that as long as there is nothing wrong with the existing frame. However, many times there is something wrong with the existing frame. There are 2 major problems that we come across quite a bit with these old frames. First, they can be far out of square, meaning the new window can’t be installed properly. When this happens the installer is forced to install the new window also out of square which means it will not seal or operate properly. Also, the new window often looks out of level or plumb with the existing frame and trim. The second problem, and even more serious one to encounter, is frame rot. Frame rot in climates such as we experience in Morris County, New Jersey, is far too common. This one can be tricky because it can not always be found during an initial home consultation. However, a trained professional can usually see some of the tell tale signs such as soft wood, stained drywall or loose siding below the window. So in short if your existing window frames are square and there aren’t any signs of water or bug damage then pocket replacements are a good option to have.
Framing
Full frame replacements are a more thorough solution but not always a necessary one. Here the old windows and frames are completely removed, including any interior or exterior trim. What’s left is a gaping hole exposing the wall studs, sill plate and header above. This is where we can inspect for insect or water damage to the framing and/or sheathing (exterior siding underlayment) and make any necessary repairs. Once repairs are made and the opening is prepped for flashing, the new window can be installed utilizing a nail-fin type of installation. The nail fin is part of the window frame that helps to shed any water that may get behind the home’s siding so that nothing will penetrate the structure of the house or get inside the opening causing leaks. Then the nail fin is flashed to the existing water resistive barrier (tar paper or tyvek) to complete the job. All new interior and exterior trim is applied paying careful attention to covering the old paint lines on the interior walls and replacing or remounting any adjacent siding on the exterior of the home. What you have in the end is total piece of mind knowing that a thorough installation was performed that will keep out water, cold air and insects for many years to come.

New Construction
When purchasing new windows it is very important to get yourself a bit educated on the types of solutions that companies have to offer. It’s not just picking the best window for the money, or the best glass package, but also equally important, if not more, is knowing which type of installation is right for you and your home. There are 2 types of windows installations: Pocket replacements and Full Frame replacements. Note: Full frame replacement is also sometimes call the New Construction method of window installation.

Landscaping and Fencing

Driveways
We use our proprietary design so that our installation process requires minimal tools and equipment. The days of parking our trailer in your driveway for 2 weeks or more and trampling all over your lawn in the process of building are gone now. Our process begins with a clean new footing installation, most of the time we use non-concrete footing methods that do not require digging. After that we deliver the deck and begin putting the frame together. Even your stairs are made of steel and are pre-cut at our warehouse. Our system is fully designed in 3D modeling software and we generate construction drawings which are then stamped by an engineer for faster permit approval, which we take care of for you. You will have several choices for the deck boards as well, ranging in budget.

Window Installation/Replacement
On this job we were called to inspect the homeowners existing old inefficient windows. We found them to be in bad shape, most wouldn’t operate correctly. And of course they were super drafty. We provided an estimate for full frame vinyl replacement windows with our all new interior factory finish trim. The end result speaks for itself and the homeowners were thrilled with both the look and operation of the new windows. Not to mention the savings on their energy bills. These Sunrise windows use cardinal glass and uPVC frames for reliability and the convenience of having maintenance free windows.
Decks
In our previous experience with building decks we knew there had to be a better way. Like many deck builders, we have been so disappointed with the quality of available pressure treated lumber for deck building. We grew tired of wasting countless hours trying to find the best pieces to use for our customers only to have those pieces warp just a few months later. So we did some investigating and saw that light gauge steel was a better alternative. However, there wasn’t much known about how to use it for residential decks.
Gutters
Well we all live in northern NJ weather it’s Morris County, Bergen County or Hunterdon county we are surrounded by lots of trees which means lots of leaves. Our recommendations is either hire someone to routinely clean your gutters or install a quality gutter protection system like Leaf Relief. Combined with our highest quality seamless gutter systems the Leaf Relief system provides protection and beauty. Ordinary gutter protection either doesn’t do a good job or is big ugly and bulky. Siding
POCKET REPLACEMENT INSTALLATION: Pros: Lower cost, interior trim stays, no siding has to be disturbed, much easier for DIY’s.
Residential Roof Repair

Metal roofing is also a more environmentally friendly solution with the panels being recyclable and the manufacturing less harmful to the environment.
Residential Roof Replacement/Installation
At Taylor Rae we take roofing to another level. It’s not just ripping off shingles and nailing new ones on as fast as possible. Your roof is an engineered system! With our engineering background this is exactly how we will treat your new roof. We look at the current ventilation, which is often inadequate, the condition of the wood, the edges, flashing around any chimneys and pay special attention to areas of concern. Such areas include sidewalls and low-pitched sections.

Ok, I know this one is obvious but how often are you checking your attic space to inspect for leaks during a rainstorm? Or how about if there was a snow storm and you notice the snow on your roof melting? Water can cause serious damage to your home’s structure and furnishings, so it’s important to address leaks as soon as possible. Quite often it’s when we see water stains in the sheetrock that we realize there is a problem but that means your plywood and attic insulation are already soaked. The lesson here is that if your roof is getting a little older then try to do a quick inspection every few months.
