The Gates of Biloxi

I have had nothing but problems since I signed my lease here. After I moved in I noticed my cell phone did not work, as in I could not make a call unless I was outside...when I asked the office staff about this I was told, "Yeah, the only service that works is Cellular South." I feel like if you know there is a problem, a potential tenant should be told before signing a lease. Most people only have cell phones...especially after going through Hurricane Katrina. I also have roaches!!! Pest control has been called out 6 times and the problem is still not taken care of. Whenever I speak to the manager about this she seems unconcerned with the problem and says she will call pest control to come out to treat it. I asked to be moved to another unit and was told, "I can't move you to another unit because you'll take them (the roaches) with you!" I was also told I could not be let out of my lease and if I broke it it would be anywhere from $1500 to $2000 to do so. She tells me they are doing all that they can do but obviously their best is not good enough and I want and need to get out of here! I DON'T feel like a valued resident and ALL I want is to live in my apartment without having to share it with these NASTY roaches! There are always teenagers roaming around...all times of the night. The management is very unprofessional and not concerned with their residents or their residents well-being. I would NOT recommend this apartment to anyone...and did I mention I've only been here for 3 months???
