Big River Equipment, established in 1949, is a full-service dealership with 68 full-time employees. Headquartered in Bettendorf, Iowa, the company serves more than 42 counties in eastern Iowa, western Illinois and Missouri. Big River Equipment carries a full line of material handling products to meet its customers needs. Its staff answers all concerns and issues to make the operation of its customers more productive. It services include repairs on all makes and models, 25 radio dispatched service vans, remanufactured engines, fleet management, preventive maintenance program, 13 in house technicians, 18 road service technicians, complete battery and charger service and operator safety training. Toter, one of its products, pioneered automated residential garbage collection in 1962. Toter offers flexible systems for material handling, waste handling or recycling, indoors or outdoors. More than 11 million Toter containers are currently in use at cities, factories, office buildings, college campuses and hospitals.
