Demolition
This project was to build a new wastewater treatment plant for the growing region.Â Our team was contracted to perform site preparation, site demolition, site grading cut to fill, early large diameter pipe backfill, temporary erosion sedimentation control, mass excavation and embankment, storm drainage, import and embank fill, site grading for all roadways and landscapes, structural excavation and backfill, dewatering, creek restoration, large diameter yard piping for the treatment plant, fire protection, installation of gas main, sanitary sewer, fire protection lines with cathodic protection, foul air lines, precast chemical trenching, all site grading paving and channelization.

Landscaping and Fencing

Landscaping
This large, complex project included four different contracts.Â The first phase was the site preparation contract, which consisted of site grading, excavation and backfill for King Countyâ€™s effluent drop structure, and trenching and backfill for large diameter pipe. The second phase for the site was the mass excavation and embankment of all the structures onsite. The scope of work also included temporary erosion control and stormwater treatment, storm drainage, underslab drainage, site grading of all landscaping berms and ponds, dewatering, structural backfill, and a restoration of Howell Creek. The third phase, we teamed up with University Mechanical to install all the various yard piping required for the treatment plant. The utilities included domestic water, fire protection, natural gas, foul air, reclaimed water, sanitary sewer, and others. The fourth phase was to perform all roadway grading, paving, and channelization.
Fencing
We were responsible for clearing and grubbing, stream diversion, dewatering, lowering of the existing watermain, removal of existing culvert, installation of the new fish passage, guardrail, fencing, asphalt paving, channelization, and stream restoration.
Asphalt Paving
We were responsible for the excavation of a 5-level underground parking garage serving as the foundation for three new office towers. In conjunction with the shoring contractor, our team dug down to an average depth of 45 feet. Site improvements include all water, sewer, and storm tie-ins, as well as brand new asphalt paving and sidewalks. Excavation was achieved with two conveyor belts to bring dirt from the bottom of the hole to the surface.
Excavation
We were contracted to deliver the mass excavation and utilities for a multifamily complex of 19 buildings, cast in place detention vault, sewer, storm and water systems.
Retaining Walls
Our team was responsible for clearing and grubbing, grading, storm drainage, crushed gravel surfacing, paving, retaining walls, concrete barriers, guardrails, traffic signal systems, intelligent transportation systems, illumination systems, pavement markings, and stream relocations. We successfully coordinated and implemented multiple extended road closures throughout the course of the project.Â The road closures were required in order to complete several key elements of the project including but not limited to the new fish crossings, signal bridge, and side street connections to SR 9.
