I was not very happy at my first appointment. The second appointment went better. No one, anywhere, wants to prescribe pain medications. I have several conditions that require the use of narcotics for pain management. The pain management centers around here won't even prescribe narcotics. How can you call yourself pain management if you refuse to manage pain.

I digress, anyway Dr. Swallow was very helpful on my second visit. I had to have my medical records sent in so that he could see I was in pain management in another state and that I was doing well. He was very professional, caring, and up front about not being a pain management doctor and that I needed to get into a pain center for my medications. So now we are back to trying to find a pain center that will do that. Mt. Nittany won't. So I am at square one....

i am flabbergasted at the callousness of ALL the FHA's! there is NO such thing as pain control anymore. If you are in need of pain medicine you are automatically an addict now. Where is simple compassion???? All pain medicine was or IS being taken from patients in an effort to what? Control abusers? Are they really to lazy or just to uncareing to look at the patient charts and go on a case by case basis? A pain clinic is there answer.while the pain clinics are over booked and very hard to get into quickly. In the meantime you must suffer. i feel bad that celeberities are overdosing ,but Mifflin County has no celeberties that i'm aware of. Are you?As for the addicts "coming in" and requesting pain meds. You must NOt be very good at YOUR job if you can't tell the difference!!!!! Idiots . I ONLY PRAY that someday you need the very thing you're denying the very ones that DO need it. Also your one nurse is extremely unplansant! Always was.even when with the "other"doc.
