Fast R Floors

Hired the owner of Fast R Floors, Dustin Hicks as a General Contractor for kitchen remodel. Remodeling is never fun, but Dustin made sure the experience was especially terrible. Cosmetically, we are very pleased with the final look of the kitchen (thanks in large part to the painters we contracted ourselves & the good people at Verona Marble whom Dustin contracted. I hope they got paid). However, HIS workmanship is garbage. For example, got some duct work done for vent hood. Didn't even bother to install duct plates where he busted thru a pantry wall. Looks awful. Installed a beautiful farmhouse sink. He used hardwood flooring as support for an 80 lb sink & drove screws thru cabinetry so we can rip our hands open when digging thru cabinets. He also used that same hardwood flooring to patch blank spots created in the removal of an old center island. Problem is, it's a different species from our existing wood floor. Color matching is next to impossible. So that all sucks, right? Here's the icing on the cake. He didn't clean up after completion. I'm the proud new owner of a pile of construction debris, broken tile, sheet rock, boards with nails in them, etc... Oh, and he'll lie to your face. Q. "How long after demo will we have our kitchen back?" A. "3 weeks at the most." It took 2 months. Q. "Why didn't you build that back splash the way I ordered?" A. "I don't know who built that. It was just there when I showed up." So some mysterious carpenter broke in to our home and built a terrible excuse for a back splash? Wasn't you? He still hasn't paid his subcontractors. I paid him, where's the money? And why am I getting phone calls from Subs asking where's the money? It's been over a month since they finished & I got a call from a carpenter this morning. Not my problem, but I feel for the Subs. Top it all off, he wouldn't even provide an accurate receipt for a $15,000+ project. Head for the hills on this one. Maybe he's a good tile guy, but a General Contractor, he is not
