Sinusitis
Asthma and chronic sinusitis are both chronic inflammatory diseases. Asthma involves inflammation of the airways whereas chronic sinusitis involves inflammation of the sinus mucosa (lining).
Medical Weight Loss
A person with celiac disease may have no symptoms. People without symptoms are still at risk for the complications of celiac disease, including malnutrition. The longer a person goes without diagnosed and treated, the greater the chance of developing malnutrition and other complications. Anemia, delayed growth, and weight loss are signs of malnutrition: The body is just not getting enough nutrients. Malnutrition is a serious problem for children because they need adequate nutrition to develop properly.
Pediatric Care
Training for allergists/immunologists includes medical school, followed by three years of postgraduate training in pediatrics or internal medicine, and two additional years in allergy and immunology. Thus, allergists/immunologists specialize as pediatricians or internists, and are also trained in allergy/clinical immunology.
Primary Care
Referrals If you have an insurance plan with which we are contracted, you may need a referral authorization from your primary care physician/ pediatrician. If we have not received a referral prior to your arrival at the office, we have a telephone for you to use to call your primary care /pediatrician physician to obtain it. If you are unable to obtain the referral at that time, you will be rescheduled.
Emergency Care
If your peak flow is less than 60% consider this an emergency: Take your rescue medicine, and call your doctor or go to the Emergency Room right away! Your peak flow meter is only an aide to you. Do not rely on your peak flow numbers alone when deciding whether to take your rescue medicine or call your doctor. Your symptoms also need to be considered.

Allergies
Allergen immunotherapy is a form of treatment aimed at decreasing your sensitivity to substances called allergens. These allergens are identified by allergy testing, and are the substances that trigger your allergy symptoms when you are exposed to them. Allergen immunotherapy involves injecting increasing amounts of an allergen to a patient over several months. Immunotherapy has been shown to prevent the development of new allergies and, in children, it can prevent the progression of the allergic disease from allergic rhinitis to asthma. Allergen immunotherapy can lead to the long-lasting relief of allergy symptoms after treatment is stopped.
