Azusa Garden Apartments

Living here was a terrible experience. At the beginning it was fine, the rent was cheap, and it was close to where we needed to be. After about 9 months everything began to go downhill. Since we moved in we had a problem with cockroaches in the kitchen and bathroom, at first it was manageable, but it kept getting worse and worse, nothing we did would get rid of them. Then about 9 months into living there we got bed bugs. We didn't realize what the problem was at first and thought it was just an allergic reaction to something, but when we finally figured out what it was and brought it up to the management they blamed us for the infestation and threatened to charge us for the fumigation and the fumigation of the surrounding apartments. In the end we convinced them that we should not be charged and they fumigated, but they did not speak great English and were difficult to communicate with. Throughout the process one of the managers said "This should not be happening, we only have a bed bug infestation like once a year." Wow, big red flag right there, needless to say we were gone as soon as possible. We cleaned the apartment thoroughly before move-out in hopes of getting our deposit back, but we never did. Also the community is gated, but almost all of the gates are broken so anyone can go in and out at any time. Also at least half of the dryers were always broken. So I definitely do not recommend living here, yes the rent is cheap, but it is not worth the hassle.
