Of course, the question is left, why would we do something like that? There are people that come to us with abstract ideas about what they want their custom home to look like. Theyll say things like I want a big kitchen, with a connected dining room because we love to entertain guests. Theyll talk about what they want their house to do, but they wont really have any idea of what those goals in a house looks like. Then there are people who have scraps of pictures from catalogues and magazines that depict what they want in a custom home. But again, theyre not sure what that will actually look like in a floor plan. Then there are the folks who know exactly what they want the floor plan to look like but then little concept of how a home must actually be built, or they dont see that they only left two feet for their walk in closet or a 1 wide staircase. Of course, we see all these folks and many folks have a differing variations of each trait, and through our years of building homes for these people, weve learned that getting the initial design down can do a lot to help a family create the perfect space - to help with the visualization of what their goals look like so that they can spend more time considering what theyre asking for before committing to something.
