Eye Physicians & Surgeons of Augusta, P.C., is Augusta's only complete ophthalmic center. Recently, we've become the FIRST practice in the nation to offer patients the combined benefits of LenSx Laser Cateract Surgery and all-laser LASIK using the Wavelight Refractive Suite with Wavenet technology. This state-of-the-art LASIK Center uses the world's fastest laser and the first laser system designed specifically for LASIK; where patients can view live LASIK prodecures. The Eye Guys are proud to be the first and only eye center in the CSRA to offer patients the safety, precision and results of the LenSx Laser Cataract Surgery. Our surgery center has AAAHC accreditation and is licensed by the State of Georgia. Recently, Medicare awarded the Eye Surgery Center of Augusta a rating score of 100%. The Eye Surgery Center is dedicated to ultra-modern ophthalmic microsurgery, bringing together the combined talents of some of the area's best ophthalmic surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, technicians and administrators. At present, the Eye Surgery Center of Augusta has four operating rooms, a six-bay pre-operative area and a five-bay postoperative area. The pre- and post-op areas are equipped with oxygen, code carts, defibruillators, suction, warming cabinets for blankers, monitors and refrigerators for postoperative nutrition. Each bay has curtains for the patient's privacy. Each operating room is equipped with modern ophthalmic surgical equipment, oxygen, monitors and anesthesia equipment. The average age of patients seen in the Eye Surgery Center is 72. Great care is taken to meet the special needs of older and/or handicapped patients. Because we only focus on eye surgery and the needs of eye surgery patients, we offer a high level of efficient service. Patient satisfaction surveys have been and continue to be excellent. This reduces visual recovery time to approximately four months, eliminates the possibility of increased astigmatism, and can be done without corneal stitches.
