        General Plumbing Supply Company, Inc (GPS), California Corporation, was founded in 1965, in Walnut Creek, California, by Richard Amaro Sr. and Evelyn Amaro. Some 40 plus years later, the company still maintains it's corporate headquarters in Walnut Creek, and is still a family owned and operated business. Today, GPS consists of six plumbing supply branches with approximately 130 employees located in Walnut Creek,,, and Sonora, California. GPS also owns three electrical equipment supply branches located in Auburn, Livermore and Sonora, which operate under the names of General Wholesale Electric Supply. GPS has evolved over the years to a full service plumbing supply company carrying a complete line of plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning, and commercial lighting equipment for both residential and commercial applications. GPS is an authorized distributor for American Standard plumbing products, A.O. Smith water heaters and Bryant electrical components. In addition, the company stocks a complete line of water heaters, boilers, pumps, toilets, faucets, sinks, garbage disposals, shower and tub components, and steel, plastic, cast iron, brass, and copper pipe and tubing, as well as all the fittings, valves, and joining materials for each type of pipe. Dedicated to customer service and satisfaction, and to providing quality materials and service at a fair price, GPS is proud of it's reputation as one of the premier plumbing, electrical, and heating air conditioning suppliers in Northern California.
