U-Haul Storage of Little Elm Aubrey

I have been a customer of this location since 2008 when it was Royal Storage. Since Uhaul took over the quality of Customer Service has gone steadily downhill. The current management (new) is terrible. My account is direct billed and has always been paid on time. In the past 30 days I have experienced the following issues:

1. They placed an additional lock on my unit ("for additional security") in spite of my requesting in writing and verbally (August 2011) that I did not want their lock. I even received assurance from the management (at the time) in November 2011 that they would not add this additional lock. I was fortunate that when I came in to pick up some supplies for a church project that they were still open and were able to remove their lock. When I explained that I did not want their lock because I had 24 hour access per my original agreement and would have not been able to access my unit after hours, instead of an apology I was told "there is an extra $10 per month fee for 24 hour access"

2. I explained that I had never paid an "additional" fee for what was included in my original contract. Clearly it didn't matter because my very next bill had the $10 "service fee".

3. I received notice today that my monthly rate was going up 10% effective next month. Nice treatment for a long-term customer.



Please steer clear of this storage unit. I have always had mixed experiences with Uhaul - some good, some bad. This location used to be great when it was independent, now with Uhaul it is terrible. Try any other location first!! Even if you get a great rate quote from them they will just arbitrarily raise the rate with little notice.
