have boarded my dogs here for over 20 years. my first dog was just a little puppy when i had to go out of town and the vet recommended Jan. when i picked her up, Jan said because she was so small they just kept her with them in the house - now that is real love for animals. my second dog practically runs into the place every time i bring her there. i also love the pics they email to me when she is playing with the other dogs (altho to be honest my dog doesn't really play with, it's more like parallel play), but i am thrilled she does this since she usually does not like to be around other dogs. the staff there definitely have a way with animals and their real love for them shows

Great Kennel! We've been using Stargate for 6+ years. They have reasonable rates and take great care of our animals.

My dogs love to go to "Camp" at Stargate ... they even have a couple of runs that are big enough for all four (4) of my dogs to room together. They are also very strict about having proper proof that all dogs coming to "Camp" have all their shots up to date.

We boarded our 2 dogs at Stargate Kennel located at 2643 Stonecrest Arnold, MO 63010 on a Saturday April 26, 2008 for a 1 night stay. When making the reservation we were told that the price was $16.00 per night per dog. We went ahead with the reservation and asked what the hours of operation were for Sunday April 27th. We were told we could only pick up the dogs between 4:00pm and 4:30pm. When I picked our dogs up on Sunday evening at 4:00pm we were charged $70.00 for the 1 night the dogs were there. This comes out to $35.00 per dog for 1 night. I asked about the increase cost and I was told that the owner charged for Sunday as well. There were 11 other people waiting to pick up their animals, everyone was in a rush and the staff tried to hurry me out. Rather than lose my temper I paid the fee, got my dogs and left. When my husband called back later to discuss the difference in price with the owner she told him that she is closed on Sundays, but she allows animals to be picked up as a courtesy. She further stated if he did not like the policy he was welcome to take the dogs elsewhere and she hung up on him. This was incredibly unprofessional and rude. When I got home the dogs immediately ran outside to relieve themselves....which tells me that they had not been let out all morning or afternoon. I would not recommend this kennel to anyone who cares about their pets.
