1St Avenue Salon by Veka

I was in the city for a short time and really needed a haircut. I called at 1 St ave Salon and they fit me in with Veka. From the second I walked in the door, I was made to feel comfortable and at home. Veka gave me a thorough consult, and gave me such a great cut! she is innovative, concerned, VERY talented, and sweet as can be. I will certainly go back and will try to have her be my only stylist. I live in San Francisco, so this may be a trick, but she is wonderful. I really enjoyed my experience with her. I am a cosmetologist, and she is fabulous! I was in a bit of a hurry when I left, and didn't really get to say 'bye" to Veka, but I really would like her to know how much I like my cut and her methods.

It was a pleasure. The only bad thing about writing this review, is I'm afraid I won't be able to be "fit in" anymore! she's going to be too busy for me!

Great job, and it was a pleasure going to this Salon. EVERYONE in the salon was friendly, warm and welcoming.

I've been to Veka a few time.She had never failed me. She took time to know what I wanted and delivered the results that beyond my expectations! I got so many compliments after each visits. The highlights she did for me had so many dimensions it's like work of art. The hair cut is sophisticated yet was easy to maintain.

I go there for my B-day and New Year. It's a treat that worth having. I only hope they have more special promotions, like B-day discount. Love it!!! When I walked out, not only did I just love VEKA I had the best haircut I ever had. Everyone in the salon is professional, friendly and with the kind of eye for detail that I have never experienced. I have ever had...even in the rain.

I have a LOT and SUPER straight hair that used to be very hard for me to style on a day to day basis. FLAT was the adjective that followed me everywhere. Then, a little over a year ago, I found VEKA she transformed my hair into a modern full body layered style that gives me the modern edge. She explained to me how to comb it and what product to use to keep it looking cool. No longer do I suffer from flat days. I actually have a haircut that gives me a beautiful frame to my face and it is easy to manage. I get compliments on it almost every day. Veka is now at the 1 st Ave Salon, and of course, I am am there, still her number one FAN! I recommend her work to ALL. Thanks Veka for being so Cool and fabulous

I cannot say enough about the amazing Veka is . I have worked in the fashion industry for many years and have tried many trendy salons, but was never really satisfied. My sister, knowing how picky I am, raved about this Salon, so I thought I’d give it a try. She did not let me down. I loved the clean, sophisticated, yet down-to-earth atmosphere. The service was outstanding. The very personable and friendly staff makes you feel right at home. Most importantly, I love my hair!!! It was the best cut and color I have gotten in years. First, of all, I want to start off by saying that I am a beauty writer, which (I think) makes me somewhat more qualified to review a salon! I was a bit skeptical of haircolor when I first went with my friend to Veka. I was instantly convinced that color can really enhance your look when I saw my dark haired friend become transformed into a natural looking blonde (really difficult to do). Now I am a regular customer and I go monthly to make my dark hair look more rich. I've had color done in several really nice salons, and I have to say that veka is the best I've come across. I have been a loyal customer of Veka's for awhile now because I am so pleased with how my hair looks and the service really cannot be beat. The staff always takes care of you and makes you feel relaxed and at home. The complimentary blow-outs that come with a hair color treatment are amazing...DEFINITELY ask for Veka and her rising star of an assistant Xio. They really care about their clients and they know what they are doing. Put down that box of do-it-yourself Loreal color from CVS and head on over to Veka!

I have followed Veka the for years now. When She finally convinced me to switch over to Balyage several months ago I was unconvinced, I've been foiling highlights for over ten years. She painted my hair in a direction of how i wear it in daily basis and it looks amazing i love it.She lightens hair gradually from root to tip, Not only can you not tell I had any hair coloring process, it is so beautiful. I just can't be in the salon often, and the balyage really helps stretch out visits and doesn't have the razory edge growing out like foils. I am hooked....Veka is one of the BEST Balayage Colorists I hav experienced . LISTEN to what you have to say because she respects the fact that YOU know more about your hair than anyone. I loved my BKT performed by Veka and her prices are amazing. She explained everything about the process and how to stop damaging my hair. I had tried every product possible for my hair not to freeze up Trust me, if anyone has tried all of the products and techniques to eliminate frizz and a nappy head of hair, it's been myself. It wasn't until I couldn't take it any longer, and finally Veka came to the rescue. My experience there was awesome! The process took 2 hours, and due to the formaldehyde (I really didn't smell anything, but some people are more sensitive than others).Veka worked meticulously on my hair to the point of perfection! I am caucasian and usually have very curly hair which definitely frizzes in the humidity. After receiving this treatment my hair is soft and sleek, and air dries perfectly straight. It's like a miracle! I have had other straightening processes done before, but I have never had results this nice. My hair looks and feels healthier than it has ever been in my whole life! After the treatment you cannot wash your hair for 4 days...ugh! This was the only bad part of the process, but I did indeed live through it. I can not be any happier with the results of the BKT. I went to Vekas for my wedding updo and make-up, and Veka is my hero. Every hair stylist I've gone to has commented about about hair's unusual texture--thick, heavy, long, resilient, and glossy/slippery. Nice hair, but very difficult for an updo. In the past, I've gone to many reputable high-end salons in pasadena whenever I needed an updo for a special event. The outcome was always a tightly pulled back bun with many many pins to try and hold the look in place. Ouch, and not particularly interesting.

Veka was creative (and patient) in the design of the updo (better than anything I've seen in magazines) and how she used the pins. I was so impressed with her skills and the genuine care she took to helping me look my best on my wedding day. Thank you, veka! I also had my make-up professionally done by her. I left (not looking like a made-up doll which is what usually happens) but rather me plus plus. I didn't know I could look so good. It was really a transformation. At the wedding, I received almost more comments about my hair and make-up than my wedding dress!

I've been coloring my hair for years (single + highlights) and there is no better feeling than when you find a perfect colorist. I've been to veka a few times and have NEVER been disappointed. My gal is veka. You'll get exactly the color you desire from a smart, caring, sweet colorist. The entire salon and staff is just lovely.

VEKA is amazing! I just had my cut and color done by Veka and it was my far the best experience i have had since I moved to the city two years ago!

I have gone to other high end salons but this surpassed all of them. Veka took the time to correct my poorly done highlights from another salon and gave me the most amazing color in addition to the correction. The cut she gave was amazing too and the perfect way to kick off a Friday night.

I found out about this salon when researching Brazilian Keratin Treatment to straighten my hair. I read about veka and i called her. She was wonderful! She talked to me extensively over the phone about the treatment and answered all of my questions. I live in valencia and i found that this is one of the only salons offering this treatment near me. My experience there was awesome! The process took 3 hours, and (I really didn't smell anything, but some people are more sensitive than others) we both wore masks. Veka worked meticulously on my hair to the point of perfection! I am caucasian and usually have very curly hair which definitely frizzes in the humidity. After receiving this treatment my hair is soft and sleek, and air dries perfectly straight. It's like a miracle! I have had other straightening processes done before, but I have never had results this nice. My hair looks and feels healthier than it has ever been in my whole life! After the treatment you cannot wash your hair for 4 days...ugh! This was the only bad part of the process, but I did indeed live through it. After this treatment you have to use a shampoo and conditioner that does not contain sodium chloride. I have always bought professional grade products, but was recommended to use global keratin shampoo now, and it is working very well. So, they say this should last 3-4 months... we'll see how it goes through the winter. Veka at Salon de jeunesse is top-notch, and I would drive there again for this treatment in a heartbeat! She's da bomb!

When I first read about Brazilian Keratin Straightening in L.A (Curls, Split! Ringlets, Be Gone!, July 19Th, 2007), I was immediately interested. I did my research, checked out brazilian keratin dot com, found VEKA salon and checked City Search for reviews. I called up, scheduled a consultation, and two days later received the treatment.My hair was definitely damaged and now the shine and smoothness is coming back. This Treatment has left my hair feeling healthy and soft. I am constantly getting compliments on my hair I love this salon for it. I could not be happier with my hair!!! I highly recommend Veka, both for her professionalism and talent. She is AMAZING!!! and also fabulous, she's on the management side of things and just such a pleasure to deal with. I saw her name recommended on City search before, and now I know why!! I can't say enough about her or the treatment... amazing through and through. So glad I went there and suggest you do too! If you are looking for a stylist who does extensions, Veka is the most gifted artist. The extensions she uses are the highest quality human hair and she applies them in a way that even my best friend didn't know I had extensions! Veka is also an expert colorist and stylist, so she can do your color to match the extensions perfectly, and then give your beautiful new mane a chic cut. She is a perfectionist. You can't do better even if you searched across the country. We are fortunate to have her right here. I used to see her in Monrovia; now she is in Arcadia- a bit of a trek if you live in the city, but well worth the trip, and there is plenty of parking. Give yourself a gift - if you've considered extensions, this is the person for you!

I found the Veka salon through a search and couldn't be happier. I needed a color and cut and was introduced to veka and veka is a true professional who knows what is best for your hair color and type. She has learned from the best and it shows through her work. Before we got started, Veka educated me on what was the best route to go with for color on my hair. She introduced me to a process called Balayage. I had never heard of it before so she explained everything about it. She was right! My hair color has never looked so good. veka did a fantastic job and I cannot wait to go back and see her again! She's not only a professional colorist, but a sincere, caring person who truly wants you to leave 190% satisfied.
