Advantage did work at my store...

Advantage did work at my store roughly 4/16. When the tech came out, I told him I REQUIRED an estimate before work could be done. They said "Sure, no problem. We'll take a look." Left, came back, told us what was wrong. I gave them our address, email, and fax lines, and they said they'd get back to me.

Having never sent an estimate, they went ahead, finished the work, then billed us. We paid for the work immediately and didn't think anything of it (besides the fact they never followed instruction).

Two months later, our A/C went out in the store. I called to speak to Mike, their service manager, who came out on 6/20, took a look, and told me a rough number of what it would cost to fix it. I explained to Mike that this time, unlike last, I couldn't just let him do it, I needed a physical estimate to show my owner and authorize the work to be completed. He said no problem, took our email, fax, and address, and I left for a two-week vacation. When I came back on 7/9, I found not only did we not have the work completed, Mike never gave us an estimate, called us back, or contacted us while I was gone. I called Advantage immediately on Monday, 7/9, and spoke to Lisa, who told me Mike was unavailable but would call me MONDAY. I called back at 4:30pm, before leaving for the day, and Lisa told me Mike was called out to do service, as another tech was sent home due to the heat, but that he would DEFINITELY call me Monday. On Tuesday, after not hearing from either of the people at Advantage, I called back. I was assured that Mike was unavailable currently, but would "touch base" with me on Tuesday. Apparently, "touch base" means "don't call them back or contact them, even after you've been to their store to see the work that needs to be done." It's now Wednesday and I'll be calling another company who has the time and energy to be willing to get business instead of avoid it.



I know who I won't be calling in the future. Thanks for making that decision easy for us, Mike.
