Cardiology Center of Amarillo

I was referred to this center last year by my general doctor. I was assigned to Dr. Assadourian. I went through a stress test and the doctor ended up recommending a heart cath. The procedure went fine. After that is when the problems started. I was scheduled for a follow up a few months after the procedure. I went in several times for an appointment. Each time I would arrive as scheduled. After an hour each time I would check in with the ladies up front and they would always say it would be at least another hour and couldn't guarantee a time. This while other patients of Assadourian who had earlier appointments than me were also still waiting in the lobby. I would have to leave to go back to work rather than wait another hour and potentially still not get to see the doctor. Their own ladies up front said it is a continual complaint of Assadourian's patients that there is always a very long wait. I finally gave up and stopped rescheduling. A year went by and no one from their office thought to call and ask why they hadn't followed up with a patient who underwent a heart cath. I was supposed to have a yearly appointment with the nurse practitioner finally. There was a scheduling mix up again. To be fair, they said they called me a month previous to remind me of a change. The problem was they were overbooked for the nurse too, surprise surprise. I don't remember the phone call, but maybe I forgot. Either way it was rebooked because they can't handle the workload they originally schedule. I have spoken to my general practitioner and requested a referral to a new cardiology center.
