Overall

I concur with perry40; I have never been treated in such a rude, unkind, and unhelpful manner by a receptionist. She could not answer any questions I asked and yelled at me in a condescending way as I walked out the door. A first point of contact ruins the perception of a business as a whole. Just based on her, I will never go back to Dr. Elaine's again. I have never been satisfied with the results I have received in the past. She charges $14/unit for botox while other places in Amarillo charge $10 and Dallas area charges on average $12/unit at top rated plastic surgeon offices. I also asked for a chemical peel before, and they gave me a glycolic peel which lead to no visible results. I was told I could not have a regular chemical peel which I later found out to be false. She charges far too much and seems to know little about what treatment is best. If I saw satisfactory results, I would be happy to pay more, but that is not the case. It would be cheaper and more effective to fly or drive to Dallas for procedures.

I highly recommend Dr. Elaine Cook. I have had severe eczema throughout my life. I never enjoyed summer time due to my skin being so inflamed. I have been getting treatments from Elaine for the last 9 months and have noticed a huge difference in my skin and looking forward to this years summer, thanks Dr. Cook

The most UNFRIENDLY staff (needs to get a new receptionist!!!!!!) and doctor. If my daughter and I were treated so rudely, there is no way that others haven't also been treated that way. Prices are greatly inflated for what you get. Be sure to ask doctor what her internship, residency and original board certification were in.

I completed two separate residencies, first a full residency in Pediatrics and then a full residency in Dermatology. I am Board Certified by both the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board Pediatrics. Both are member Boards of the accreditation group, the American Board of Medical Specialties. You may confirm that on their website at http://www.certificationmatters.org/Home.aspx.

Dr. Cook brought my skin back to life! I'm 33 years old and have had terrible acne ever since I was a teenager. I'm talking real bad, almost unbearable. Nothing I used seemed to work. I decided to take a chance and see a dermatologist.

Dr. Cook cleared up my skin within 4 months of my initial visit. The combination of facial/acne treatments and using her skin care products completely transformed my skin. I look like a whole new person and I owe it to Dr. Cook!

The Arizona Doctor

My experience at that place was not good to say the least. to start, Dr.cook is not freindly, a lot of her patients in amarillo agree. I think the other reviews were written by her freinds and staff.

She did spider veins treatment on my legs twice, it didn't work, when I complained, she said " your body is not responding to the treatment, you have to deal with it" just like that.

when I called later about some itching and pain after her injections, she wasn't even in amarillo, I was told that she lives in arizona and she comes to amarillo to do treatments????? How could she take care of her patients if she is not even in texas......

I changed doctors last month, my experience now is much better.

I must say that I am extremely surprised to find what is mentioned in this review. First of all, I live in Amarillo. Like most people, I do travel some and have family in Arizona. But I am always available through the office. If a patient is having a problem, I will always see them. If you are an established patient, and are having a problem, I always want you to contact me at the office so that we can evaluate it. Secondly, I am very surprised to hear you say that that I told you "your body is not responding to the treatment, you have to deal with it" I can say categorically that I have never said anything like that to a patient. Of course, some people do respond better to treatments than others, some people need more treatments than others to achieve the desired result, some people may not be satisfied with their results, and some people may be unhappy if they experience a side effect even though we have discussed it before treatment. I understand this and that is why I always discuss the number of treatments that will needed, the likely outcome, and possible side effects with a patient before any treatment. Our philosophy at Advanced Skin Treatment Center is that patients deserve to be active participants in their own health care. Part of my job is to help you get the information you need to do that by understanding the pros and cons of any procedure so that you can make an informed decision whether or not to proceed. If a patient ever feels that they don't have enough information to make that choice, I absolutely want them to tell me at the time of the visit and, of course, we will discuss it, as I strongly believe that leads to better patient care. Lastly, and more importantly, I appreciate these reviews as they provide potential patients with information that helps them in their choice of a physician. This being said, some patients may be unhappy and we know of certain competitors who have posted fictitious information in an attempt to influence potential patients. All information must be analyzed with this in mind. I invite any genuine patient with a problem or complaint, or anyone wishing to get clarification to call our office: 806-358-1117. I'll be more than happy to take the call myself. Elaine Cook MD

I had a wonderful experience!! Dr Cook is very nice and professional. She really cares about what mattered to me the most. She took the time to explain the procedures that would benefit my type of skin. I would definitely refer my friends to her clinic.
