Reinhardt Family Medicine

I have been a patient for years, but will never return. I called last Thursday because of back pain I had been experiencing for over a month. I went to a chiropractor first, which didn’t help. The Tuesday before I called the pain had worsened to the point I knew something was seriously wrong and it wasn’t going to work itself out. I was seen Friday morning and told I had a bad muscle spasm and was given a shot of lidocaine in the muscle. Also given muscle relaxers and told to use a heating pad. I went home and did exactly as I was told. By the afternoon there was no relief, in fact the pain had worsened. I called the office and asked if they would call in something for pain or a tens unit. I was called back and told to take Advil. I was told last year not to take Advil (or any medication in that drug class) due to a bad reaction to meloxicam. I was angry and the pain was constant all weekend. The injection didn’t work. I called today thinking they would order an x-ray or refer me to a specialist. When I called, I told the receptionist I never wanted to see the physician that treated me on that Friday, but something needed to be done. She said she would talk to Dr. Reinhardt. She called back and told me I was to try Aleve. I was furious and asked if maybe they would want an x-ray or a referral? She called back and I could have an x-ray done. I have never felt so humiliated in my life. I was treated like a drug seeker. Do I want some pain relief....definitely, but more importantly, I want to know what is wrong with me that I am experiencing constant pain for almost a week now. Dr. Reinhardt couldn’t care less and that’s unforgivable for a family physician.
