        Founded in 1926, the Altadena Library District is an independent public institution that serves more than 55,200 people. The district offers computers with Internet access. It operates a nonprofit volunteer organization that supports through book donations and fundraising events, as well as sponsors author talks and educational lectures. The Altadena Library District also provides a library card that features access to over 110,000 books, CDs, videotapes and DVDs.
