Thank you, Dr. Lora Baker and Excellence Shock Wave Therapy. After five years of on-again-off-again chronic plantar fasciitis, ESWT did the trick. Almost every doctor at Allentown Family Foot Care had worked with me to try to alleviate the pain, without surgery. I have several pairs of custom orthotics, which I still use in almost every pair of shoes. Each treatment, including shots, worked, for a while. Dr. Baker convinced me to give the ESWT a shot. It took four months post-treatment for me to feel relief. With each follow-up visit, she promised the "magic" would happen and patiently encouraged me to be patient! I still need to stretch, wear shoes ALL the time, ice sometimes and other plantar tricks. But I would say my heel is 90% “normal” and I can hike and bike again. Yeah! Just in time to travel cross-country to visit National Parks.

To gain specialized training and expertise, Dr. Short completed his residency at JFK Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. He received training in correcting conditions such as flatfoot, cavus foot, and Charcot deformity. The program also provided extensive experience in foot and ankle trauma, wound care, and limb salvage. Dr. Short’s training also covered the correction of bunions, hammertoes, heel pain, and general foot and ankle arthritic conditions.
