Unfair Competition
We have experience litigating copyright, trademark, and unfair competition cases in both the state and federal courts, and we combine insight and experience with a solid understanding of business and technology to efficiently and effectively resolve clients’ IP concerns.
Antitrust
The firm’s attorneys have broad experience in federal MDL matters, having participated in at least six MDL cases as counsel to one or more of the parties. In other cases, our lawyers have acted as counsel to the Claims Administrator in the BP/Deepwater Horizon litigation and also been appointed to the role of Special Master for the settlement allocation in the Pool Products Antitrust Litigation. Our MDL work spans decades and includes cases involving issues in antitrust, securities, products liability, and pharmaceutical products liability. The firm’s size and range of experience allow us to serve clients seamlessly with national counsel and provide a virtual local office to manage these complex cases efficiently.

Employment Discrimination
Matthew Paul represents many different types of clients in complex, high-stakes litigation in federal and state courts, both in trial courts and on appeal. For example, Mr. Paul represents governmental entities and officials in various matters, including civil-rights claims, employment-discrimination claims, and public-records requests. Mr. Paul also represents companies and their officers and directors in class actions and other complex litigation. Mr. Paul also represents lawyers in disputes with former law firms, co-counsel, and clients, as well as ethics complaints.

Whether in a period of economic prosperity or uncertain and difficult times, businesses often face critical issues when their commercial partners or their own entities face a period of financial insolvency. When business disruptions occur, the importance of obtaining professional advice and sound representation in a bankruptcy setting becomes paramount. We have combined the experience of several of our attorneys to create this practice area within our firm to include lawyers who are seasoned commercial litigators and who have gained bankruptcy experience in a variety of settings. With an anticipated serious economic downturn ahead for our region and our nation as a whole, we have organized this practice group to represent businesses and entities who find themselves trying to navigate the insolvency of their own business or that of a crucial business partner, particularly in situations where litigation in the context of a bankruptcy may be necessary. This can include enforcing your contractual rights as a creditor in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization, enforcing leases and employment contracts, defending director & officer or lender liability claims, or negotiating or defending preference claims. Employment Litigation
The field of employment law is rapidly changing; federal and state laws governing the screening and hiring of employees, employer provisions of benefits to employees, grounds for layoffs and termination, and post-employment competition are in constant evolution. A critical part of any business for both employers and executives is employment relations. As with any aspect of business, addressing employment issues requires planning, negotiation, and sometimes litigation. Our firm expertly counsels employers and executives on navigating these matters.
Non-compete Agreement
Our firm focuses on efficiently protecting your interests in handling important and sensitive employment matters. Specifically, our firm can advise business leadership regarding many facets of business, from negotiating and drafting agreements with and on the behalf of key employees (including issues of equity compensation, non-competition, and trade secrets) to providing advice on executive and employee separation (including advising on the rights and obligations of former executives and employees). If these issues cannot be resolved through initial negotiations, our firm is equally adept at litigating cases involving alleged employment discrimination, the enforceability of non-compete agreements, and other disputes concerning the rights and obligations arising under employment agreements.

Real Estate Litigation
Mr. Stanley handles cases in both state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels. His clients include two of Louisiana’s largest electric utilities (Entergy and Cleco), as well as numerous out-of-state clients with litigation in Louisiana. He has been recognized as Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in America in multiple categories, including Bet-The-Company Litigation (2019), Real Estate Litigation (2020), Legal Malpractice Law – Defense (2014, 2016, 2018) and Antitrust (2012, 2015). As an appellate lawyer, Mr. Stanley serves as Chair of the LSBA Appellate Section and as Chair of the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization’s Appellate Practice Advisory Commission.
Construction Litigation
We provide all aspects of advice for your construction projects. We represent the owner, the architect, the engineer, and the subcontractor. Our construction lawyers not only provide advice at the outset of the project, such as on drafting contracts, but also have extensive experience litigating construction disputes, working with liens, and untangling insurance issues.

Personal Injury
In many of our commercial cases we hear the court say: “This is an issue of first impression.” It is that feature that converts an ordinary case into a complex commercial or complex personal injury litigation that our firm routinely handles. These cases also typically feature multiple parties with differing defenses and liabilities, insurance coverage issues, and questions involving predecessor or successor liabilities. The ability to sort through these multi-faceted questions quickly and strategically is a critical aspect of the service we provide to our clients.

Billeaudeau v. Opelousas General Hospital Authority, 243 So. 3d 133 (La. App. 3 Cir. 4/18/18): Won an appeal on behalf of the plaintiffs in a medical malpractice and negligent credentialing case regarding insurance coverage for the plaintiffs’ claims;

Ms. Dossier graduated Order of the Coif from Vanderbilt University Law School. She was Editor in Chief of the Vanderbilt Law Review and a John W. Wade Scholar. Ms. Dossier received the Vanderbilt Pro Bono Service Award, as well as Vanderbilt Scholastic Excellence Awards in Constitutional Law, Criminal Procedure, Torts, and Wills and Trusts. Ms. Dossier received a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Tulane University, where she was a Deans’ Honor Scholar and graduated cum laude with academic honors. During law school, Ms. Dossier clerked in the Houston offices for two national law firms before ultimately deciding to return to New Orleans.
