AMG Specialty Hospital Albuquerque

I spent six weeks with the doctors, nurses, and aides at AMG with two open wounds on my abdomen. My daughter had researched other facilities and chose this one on my behalf. She couldn't have done better. Folks at AMG are respectful, kind, caring, competent, and nurturing, and cheerful. They were not condescending when explaining what my body (which I hardly recognized) was doing and how it was healing and most importantly they encouraged me to work on healing myself, thereby improving my self-esteem. Being as ill as I was was a scary thing: the staff at AMG walked me through it with dignity and grace. They get 5 stars from me.

This place is a nightmare! I was hospitalized here for 2 weeks and felt so unsafe in this terrifying facility that I begged the visiting nurse coordinator from Molina Medicare Insurance to have me moved. I had a tracheostomy and was left to choke without assistance; nursing assistants were inserting urinary catheters instead of nurses; it would take up to 40 minutes for someone to respond to the nurse's call button; the device that allowed me to speak with the tracheostomy would be removed to keep me from speaking. I am sure that I was sedated to keep me from saying how unsafe I felt there to visitors. It was truly terrifying. Run, don't walk away from this place!

I would highly recommend you run far away from this stink hole...don't be fooled by there web site or nurse case managers that insist that this is a good, caring and well trained group, DO make a walk thru and find out for your self. It is by far the worse place ever. A family member was their for 2 days and was worse off then before with different sores was in a freezing room.... BEWARe... It took 4 hours to get him/her out which included cops and fire department and finally an ambulance all because the director was in a power trip..
