The other day our dog was bitten by a rattlesnake. I called the animal hospital closest to our house and they instructed us to come here, to the Countryside Animal Hospital, where they had anti venom on hand. When I arrived I was instructed to wait for the technician to finish her phone call. As if that wasn't enough when dealing with a time sensitive matter, she began a long-winded lecture explaining that they would not treat him because they were unable (or unwilling) to monitor him overnight. Clearly the staff was not concerned with his well-being. If you value your pets life avoid this so-called "hospital" at all costs, especially when faced with an emergency. I would advise taking them to the small animal hospital at the University of Florida where they value the life of your pet as much as you do.

I was a breeder and now I rescue dachshunds. I have had 12 dogs and 13 puppies (not at the same time!).
Dr. Stine and Dr. Hamilton are quintessential “Country Vets.” You can count on them to provide no nonsense care for you and your pet. We were referred to Dr. Stine 13 years ago when our previous vet exhausted every treatment for a rash on one of our dogs (creams, antibiotics). On our first visit, Dr. Stine resolved 4 months of pain for our beloved dog with 1 examination and 1 question – we switched laundry detergent.
Dr. Stine is straightforward. If he can prolong a dog’s life, he will show us how. If it is time to send our dog over the “Rainbow Bridge,” he will go the extra mile to provide compassionate care for us and our dogs.
Dr. Hamilton is equally competent and compassionate. Once, one of our puppies developed complications as she started eating solid foods. We tried everything our previous vet recommended, including painful enemas. It was heart wrenching. I thought we would have to put down the puppy. Dr. Hamilton asked that we give her the puppy before putting it down. But first, she took an X-ray, found the source of the problem, and put together a clever medical regimen. That dog is still with us at 13 years of age.
If you love your animal take them to Countryside Animal Hospital.

There are too many good vets in Gainesville to waste time here! After waiting for an hour to get in the room, Dr Stine takes phone calls and leaves the room in the middle of your visit! His only concern is that you pay when you leave. I really want and expect a caring vet and one who takes time to diagnose my animal. So, after finding a new vet, I fired Dr Stine!

As a Vizsla Breeder of 35 years, I must say that Dr Stien is one of best if not the best Vet that I have ever worked with. He is very knowledgable and considerate in his care of our animals. Many of the people who have puppies from our kennel make long trips to his office because of his expertise. I would hightly recommed him and the vets that he trusts to work in his office !!!! Our pets are our family, Countryside understands that. I feel that they pay attention to what I'm concerned with and are good about explaining to me. My dogs are never upset to go here. Dr Hamilton is a sweetie!
