Through Alar Staffing I was hi...

Through Alar Staffing I was hired onto a general labor position at the Oakley Headquarters, located in Foothill Ranch. Despite racial comments made by other employees, such as calling me "wedo" rather than using my name to gain my attention, I had no other issues.

After 3 months of employment at the headquarters I had to take a week off to recover from a surgical procedure, which would help resolve a life threatening condition. The Alar representative at Oakley gave me two weeks off provided I returned with a doctors note.

The next week, I received a call from Alar letting me know I was fired for "failing to complete certain tasks". When I asked if they could specify what those "tasks" were, I failed to receive an answer. Both representatives told me "we don't have that information on file".

Because of this, I can no longer gain employment through Alar.

I would recommend Alar to any illicit drug user looking for employment, as they don't drug test.

Overall
Alar

I went to Alar Staffing and they were very nice to me. My friend told me to go and when I went they were able to get me a job right away. The lady i meet with was very nice and made me feel very comfortable. They sent me to work next day. I would tell anyone looking for a job to apply. They get me job.

Great Agency Experience

In this tough economy, I have done everything I can to try and find a job, including signing up with multiple agencies. Every agency is pretty much the same, a long application, a lot of testing and an interview. Alar Staffing, however, made the normally tedious process a little easier. I’ll admit I was concerned when I walked in to a packed lobby, I thought I would be spending my entire day there. But I filled out my application and met with a recruiter right away. She talked to me about my qualifications and my experience and told me about a specific job that she thought I might be a match for. She had me test on the computer and then submitted my resume and scores for that job. She called me the next day to set up an interview with the client, and I interviewed and start work next Monday.

I am very impressed with how smoothly things were running with as many people as they see and I would recommend this agency to anyone that is looking for work.

Downtown Mexico City

It seems that once you enter the US via the CA/Mex border, you go straight to Alar Staffing. Don't go down there unless you have two forms of ID for the INTERVIEW! I have never heard of this before...ID for an interview??? It must be to keep as many illegals away as possible since 95% of the people that go through those doors can't read or write English, I guess it makes sense that they would need to show a copy of their faked documents.

When you talk to them on the phone they'll say "bring two forms of ID." So I brought down my CA DL and an out of state ID (two forms of ID right?). Well they said that these acted as the same ID, so I was asked to come back the next day. I left them my Resume and a filled out application. Upon return the next day, I found that they had lost my app and resume so I had to start from scratch (I should have walked away right then and there). Well this time I brought down my DL and a copy of my birth certificate, two DIFFERENT FORMS and the receptionist said they could not take a copy of my birth certificate because they had to make their own copy from the original. I questioned this girl, who you could tell she was not used to being challenged, and finally a manager or supervisor came over and said they would take the copy. Thank you! About time someone that wants to help!

So anyway, I worked for Alar in the past (3-4 yrs ago) and found the process quick and easy. Maybe it was the better economic times, but I think it there have been some changes made there that have made them a horrible place to find a job. Make this place a last resort.

Just remember, "light industrial" means "native Spanish speakers preferred."
