Sand Canyon Urgent Care Center

My first time "ever" without medical insurance so I googled free or low cost services. My own doctors office/urgent care was focused on the $$$ (cost of office visit emphasizing the additional costs for tests and lab work etc.) - didn't matter that I'd been a patient for 5 years. The telephone call to Sand Cyn UC was quick and clearly the place to go. The wait was short, staff was efficient and lobby was comfortable. Doctor Thomas Ryu was pretty amazing. He handled my initial medical concern which is what he's there to do, but he went above and beyond to listen and help me when I told him I'd been off my daily thyroid medication. He had just met me and showed genuine concern which is what I'd hoped for from my own doctors office/urgent care.

Watch out for HIGH charges!

I saw Dr. Ryu in January 2012 for a sore throat. The doctor was great and I was given a prescription for an antibiotic. Everything seemed fine until I got the bill--$303 for a routine five-minute visit. If cost isn't a concern, they're fine. Otherwise, go somewhere else.
