Established in 1974, Community Library is located in Shirley, N.Y. It provides a wide variety of online services, such as access to free Internet service, viewing personal library record, chat with a librarian, search the library catalog, use online databases, read e-books and register for programs. It has a variety of current technologies that are available for both in-house use and circulation, including computers equipped with high-speed Internet access, color printers, scanners and software. It organizes various programs and events. It is a regional office for Literacy Suffolk that facilitates basic reading and English for Speakers of Other Languages tutoring. Its teen services department offers a variety of special programs, such as clubs, trips and community service opportunities. Its reference and adult services department offers a variety of collections, services, programs and technology.
