Fortune House Seafood Restaurant Inc.

Went to early Chinese New Year Lunch with Tong Xin Tai Chi Group on 1/25/17. New owners, new chef, new servers. They made a menu for the group that fit Caucasians, Hispanics, and of course Chinese (Mandarins and Cantonese). I heard no complaints just compliments. Great time, great fun, and Great Food. I definitely will return.

We were cruising Broadway, home of dozens of Asian restaurants, looking for a place to grab a bite. We checked out a few, most of which were pretty sparsely populated. Then, we checked out Fortune House. The place was packed, and nobody was speaking English.



That was a good sign.



The menu looked interesting but predictable. When we told our waitress we were hoping for something less American and more Chinese, she brought us a "Chinese menu," and we were glad we'd asked. Three dishes for $20 plus soup and rice, and the dishes were interesting--roasted duck, lettuce wraps with plum sauce, bitter Chinese broccoli with beef.... Next time, we'll be more adventurous and go for the duck's feet with vinegar sauce, whole fish clay pot, and so on.



Good food, very affordable, boisterous atmosphere. Best Chinese food at that price that we've tried in Sac so far.
