Fuji Japanese Restaurant

Came here for the 1st time with a sushi lover who was 100% skeptical about sushi quality from restaurant in a older strip mall on it's last leg in portage. After 1 visit, we've become once a week diners! Highly recommended to anyone looking for great sushi without having to travel to Chicago.

I hope this restaurant makes it. It is one of the best sushi places I have ever been, but will Portage support a Japanese restaurant?

I absolutely love sushi, and have always been disappointed at having to travel into Chicago to get it! When I heard Fuji was opening in Portage, I was surprised, hopeful, and a bit skeptical-- how good could sushi in NW Indiana be? But I went once, and haven't stopped going since. It's a small place, but the service is very attentive and the food is PHENOMENAL. I always have sushi and the fried ice cream when I go, but the people I've gone with have tried some of their other items and have found them just as good. Much more affordable than going to House of Kobe (or going into Chicago!), and overall just a great place. Please keep them in business, I highly recommend it!

This is the FIRST JAPANESE RESTAURANT IN PORTAGE! It is located next to Big Lots on Hwy 6. The Food is Great! The prices are very reasonable. If you love Japanese food and SUSHI you no longer have to drive all the way to Chicago for great Japanese food. Now it is right here in PORTAGE! Highly Recommended!!!
