Katsuhama has the most authentic and yummiest tonkatsu (Japanese breaded fried pork) I have had in the City! Although the restaurant decor pales in comparison to the taste and presentation of the food, you will be one of the few "gaijin" (foreigners) amongst a cafe of Japanese businessmen.Served with the traditional side of shredded raw cabbage and the best ginger sesame dressing this side of the continent, their perfectly fried, non-greasy strips of breaded pork is accompanied by a bowl of fresh sesame (grind first with pestle in mortar-type bowl) and a thick, Worcestershire-tasting tonkatsu sauce (add after in to bowl). Because the cabbage and soup are unlimited, you will be bound to ask for seconds, even thirds! Wash down with a glass of plum wine ("umeshu") to finish off your hearty meal.

Tonkatsu (cutlets fried) are great. Ladies dinner set is very reasonable, with Pumpkin pudding. Katsu-curry, Katsu-don, Chicken-Nanban (fried and marinated chicken), Crab salad and others are also good.
