        Dr. David Gerst has always had two interests: medicine and sports. It was only natural that this would lead him to combine those two passions by pursuing a career in podiatry. For 30 years, Dr. Gerst has been helping Chicagoans with their foot needs through his podiatry practice. Dr. Gerst earned his bachelor’s degree at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. He has been treating Chicagoland patients for their foot problems since 1990. Dr. Gerst is also board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Dr. Gerst also never gave up his love of sports and athletic activities. He has competed in a whopping 21 Ironman Triathlons, including one in Kona, HI in 2005. He is also an avid runner, having completed nine marathons, including the 100th Boston Marathon in 1996. If he’s not running, swimming or biking, you might find Dr. Gerst enjoying the great outdoors with his wife and three children.

        I should have listened the 1st time..

        Fungus is nothing to play with. I disregarded his advice. Now 2 toes infected. I learned my lesson. Listen to the dr.

        Went in with pain to the foot and ankle

        Pleasant, took time to explain, diagnosed, we came up with a plan to get me back to my workout after healing. I left with tears of joy!!!! I am grateful And thankful

        Dr. David Gerst is the great.

        He is very knowledgeable in this area of expertise. I say this because he was able to tell me exactly what was going on with my ankle, foot and toes within a few minutes and he was spot on! I've seen him on a couple of previous visits and he is consistent in the kind, caring way he talks to and takes care of his patients. I will continue to see him as well as recommend his services. His staff team is great also.
