Coastal Electric Cooperative is a member-owned electric utility, located in Walterboro, S.C. The company provides power to more than 10,000 customers in Colleton, Bamberg and Dorchester counties in South Carolina. It provides various services, such as day-to-day electric power, relocation of electric services, security lighting, maintenance of substations, distribution lines, switching systems, and planning and implementing new and upgraded power systems to meet the changing demands for energy consumption and conservation. Coastal Electric Cooperative also provides residential services, including the surge guard protection plan for electrical protection, H2O select plan for water heaters, and the energy advance loan program for heating and air units. Its commercial-industrial services include planning for both single- and three-phase power.
