Overall
Horrible care

Last February, we started seeing Dr Cuellar. I needed some cosmetic work done to fix one chipped front cap. My husband needed extensive work done to repair his teeth including a crown and a tooth pulled.

I was pressured into getting four veneers, saying that in order to fix the one chipped cap, he'd need to do both front teeth, and if he was going to do the front two, he might as well do the teeth flanking them to improve my smile. He didn't mention price or explain the process at all. I was shocked by the price, but had already agreed to get it all done.

When the temporary veneers were finally put on, they didn't give me any information other than a recommendation against biting anything with my front teeth. The day after they were put on, the broke off. I had to have an emergency appointment to repair them since I was in severe pain due to extreme sensitivity. Even breathing was excruciating. The temporaries broke of two more times before the permanent ones were put on. I did nothing to break them, but was made to feel I hadn't followed their recommendation. The second time they broke, I was literally looking in the mirror at them, not even touching them, and they broke off. The third time they needed repairing, he didn't even numb me! If it hurt to breathe, I definitely could not handle getting them put back on without being numbed first. One of the times I called, he didn't call me back for hours, leaving me in excruciating pain an unable to eat or drink.

He had waited an extended amount of time to put on the permanents due to enflamed gums, but after all of the issues, he decided to go ahead with putting the permanents on.

When the permanents were put on, the far right one looked crooked and he was going to leave it. I noticed it walking out of the office and went back in to get it fixed. That's something he should have noticed. I also have extreme sensitivity to cold drinks or even breathing in cold air, something I did not have prior to my dental work.

These are all issues from me. I haven't even gotten to my husband. Since having about 8 hours total worth of work done to his teeth, my husband now grinds his teeth and has strong sensitivity to temperature.

On Friday, December 27, 2013, my husband started having severe pain in one of his molars. I called the emergency number for Dr. Cuellar and thoroughly explained his issues in my detailed message, requesting that he call me back with hopes to see us for an emergency appointment over the weekend.

I did not receive a call back later that day or the next day. At 2am on Sunday, December 29, 2013, my husband had to go to the ER due to the infection in his tooth and a high fever. The ER gave him meds to break his fever and some antibiotics for the infection.

I called the emergency number again around 8:30 that same morning and Dr. Cuellar finally responded an hour and a half later. We scheduled an appointment for 9am the next morning where Dr. Cuellar pulled the infected tooth.

I am appalled at the lack of care and concern for my husband's infection. Had we not been told by friends that a toothache with fever can lead to serious complications, coma, and death, there is no telling what could have happened to my husband if he had not gone to the ER when he did. If not for the advice of our peers, I would have treated the fever just like any other non-emergency fever and kept him home.

I hope that this complaint prevents future clients from ever getting poor care like we received.
