Never Again!!!

Never again!!!! I had used Cocos back when I lived in Valpo 4 years ago and always had a wonderful experience, I dont know if someone took over running it or if its just gone down hill but I was so disappointed in the service we received...or lack of service I should say.

When I arrived to sign him up, I had all the necessary vet records sent a head of time. I had to wait to fill out the proper enrollment forms because the lady could not find them. Then I received a phone call later in the day asking if I was planning on coming to get my dog. This was a little over an hour before they closed...dont I have until 8pm? The girl said yes but he had been the last dog left there for the last three hours. They have no dogs and no toys what was my dog doing all day?!? She said she was reading to him a little bit. I bring my dog to socialize and exercise, at least get a ball and run him please. I get the feeling they just wanted me to get him so that they could close and go home.

The real nightmare was yesterday while we went to Chicago to visit with friends. I dropped my dog off and took the train into the city. I get a phone call at 1pm saying they were closing early and I needed to come get my dog. I was shocked, what do you mean you have to close right now?!? The girl on the phone explained that the owners were away on vacation and that the receptionist had walked out leaving her to care for the dogs alone. She stated that she had to go to the hospital to visit her family and that the dog would need to be picked up by 2pm. I explained that I was from Pennsylvania in town visiting friends and currently in Chicago. I would not be able to just come back to get him. She asked if there was anyone I could call. No Im from Pennsylvania! She suggested that she leave him at the facility unattended and I could call once I was back in town and she would come unlock the door. No thank you!!! Luckily the girl was willing to transport the dog to the house we were staying which had a keypad for entry. But this is not how a facility like this should be run!!! It was almost as if this young girl was left to run a business on her own with no experience or guidance.

You have hours of operation for a reason and inconvenience people greatly when they change. You should never suggest leaving dogs unattended in a locked facility. This is a member of my family who is dearly loved...would you lock your baby in a room alone and return 5-6 hours later to get them?!? I am appalled by how things were run and would urge everyone to avoid this facility at all costs! I will definitely be making a phone call to the better business bureau!

We have a small 20lb dog and have taken him several times. We stay with him and have had no problems, however, the last time, there were several much larger dogs that would not leave our dog alone. Our dog is very social but was afraid to the point that he would not play and clung to us. I know that there is a room especially for smaller dogs but the attendant did nothing to help the situation, said that the room was closed and did not seem to even care. This surprised us because they have opened it for ours and other dogs and have been very helpful in the past in this situation. We left after only 15 minutes and they REFUSED to give us a refund of any kind. This was not an enjoyable experience for us or our dog and now have a credit we will never use. Later, a friend, who's dog was also there when we took ours, told us that one of the dogs that were bothering ours attacked and severely injured another smaller dog after we left. I am very afraid to take our dog back.

Ordinarily, we'd give 5 stars, because we've had good experiences. However after a recent 3 night stay, they sent home her dog bed full of blond fur. Our dog has black hair and does not shed. Very disappointed to know that another dog used her bed, and she may or may not have had a bed to sleep in that was not hers. The employee could not give me any information because she is new (and apparently not well trained). Beware, you can no longer write a check for any services over $50. That, and our recent experience, may have us going elsewhere.
