Overall

I have been using Westridge for around 7 years after moving here from Louisiana . They are awesome caring doctors . The staff is great . They have taking care of at least 4 of my fur babies . I just had to let one of my fur babies of almost 18 years gain her wings 3 days ago . Dr. Morgan had left for the day ( she had been treating her for a few months ) but when I got home from work I knew it was time . Hardest decision I’ve ever made . She was my baby . But the staff on hand and Dr. Murry made it as easy as to be expected . We Thank them all for caring so much . And just today I got the most beautiful card in the mail from Dr. Morgan and the others . It truly touched my heart and also gave me confidence that I took Bug to the best vets office in Texarkana . I just had a untamed cat spayed that decide to claim me as her human . I named her patches . Well I had to catch her in a animal cage to get her there to be spayed but westridge didn’t hesitate a second on getting her in and spayed . Patches is doing awesome . Shes still not sure she wants me to pet her , just wants me to feed her . But by summer she will be crawling in my lap like my others . Sorry so long . But I can’t say enough about all the Doctors and staff their awesome .... BIG SHOUT OUT FOR WESTRIDGE ❤️

Dr. Murray is the doctor I am most familiar with at this clinic. He is thorough and very kind. He is pleasant to talk with, as he does just that. He doesn't talk to you or at you, he talks with you; there is a difference. He is also wise rather than being strictly knowledgable. Again, there is a difference. If he shows no cause for concern, you can relax. I have had horrible experiences with a different clinic. Rather than trusting me when I told them my baby was sick, they passed it off as being OCD while she steadily declined and passed on. I bring this up simply to say this; Dr. Murray told me, loosely translated, that "if a client walks in with a dog they know well and says something is wrong, then something is wrong." He said "you don't have to be a doctor to figure that out", and he "trusts the caregiver of the pet." I wish I had known Dr. Murray a long time ago, because I believe I might not have lost my baby girl if I had, or at least increased her quality of remaining life in her body. He is incredibly tenured and seems to keep up with new technology and changes in the field of veterinary medicine. My dogs are active, hunting dogs that go everywhere with me. They have their own chair next to mine at home. I speak of multiple dogs only because of the dogs I have had the pleasure of teaching and loving in the past. However, I keep only one dog at a time, thus they are incredibly close to me, garnishing all of my attention. They are the children I never had, and I love them that way as my best friends, hunting buddies, and lap dogs. I am very, very specific to details, and this doctor has satisfied the needs and greater good of my dogs thus far. Ask him a question, and he will take time to answer. However, I usually come in with a number of questions that he answers before I even get a chance to ask because he is just that good at what he does. I wish I knew more about the other doctors, but since I don't, I won't say anything about them yet. I never, ever write reviews about anything on the net, so I came here specifically to write this one. I saw a low rating due to just 2 reviews and knew this was unjustified. Yet the bad review still acknowledges Dr. Murray in a good way. If the length of this review shows anything about the level of detail I am accustomed to in my everyday life, then believe that I am difficult to win trust with. If I could use one word only to describe the level of experience and care Dr. Murray provides, it would be the word "proficient." Unfortunately, that word just doesn't do justice for matters of the heart. I lost my baby boy recently and I am heartbroken, but the care he received from Dr. Murray was more than adequate. While I grieve deeply, I know I gave him the best I could. In closing, let me say this; in 25 years, I have met with scores of veterinary doctors from small local levels to specialists in Dallas and the Texas A&M veterinary medicine school, largely because I treat them better than myself. Love for my dogs isn't something I chose; it chose me. The specialists were incredibly knowledgable. I wouldn't say that Dr. Murray's name should be juxtaposed to theirs regarding their level of wisdom as compared to knowledge, I would say their names should be juxtaposed to his. If you love your pet, give them the best. This is the best level of veterinary care I've experienced thus far, and I hope it stays that way as I raise another pup to be as awesome as his predecessors. He deserves it.

Don't use this vet.

This vet does not listen to the customer and does not have a hands on approach. Ask for doctor Murray or find another Vetinarian.
