Zapata's

This is the worst so called Mexican food I have ever eaten. I've eaten Mexican frozen dinners that have more taste. There is no heat to the salsa, and the cheese dip is a crime and unedible. It was actually stringy! While the service was okay it wasn't very friendly. The prices are absolutely out of sight considering the quality of the food. We can not figure how this place is still in business. All I can say is it is an expensive risk.

As a business owner, here in Texarkana, I know how important it is to please your customers. Last Saturday nite my family of 5 went to Zapata's for dinner. I went with my heart set on grilled chicken. I was shocked when the only grilled chicken platter was $20. (compared to competitors $10-$13). I ended up ordering the hamburger with freshly cut french fries. Although the burger was very large, the bun wasn't even toasted. And the "freshly cut ff" were cajun fries out of a bag. Cajun fries at a mexican restaurant?!!? What's up with that? My daughter ordered a taco from the kid's meal. She took one bite and gagged. I said, "Maddie what's wrong?" Then I took a bite of her taco. It tasted like the tacos I used to eat in the school cafeteria only greasier. I ended up mixing her rice (from the kid's meal) with my lettuce and hot sauce.& That's what I ate for dinner @ your restaurant. Tamolly's has you beat in the hot sauce catagory as well. I will say the service was excellent. The waitress could clearly see that I was upset, but she continued to be very polite. We left her a healthy tip, as this was not at all her fault. I now see why it was so easy & quick for us to be seated on a Saturday nite @ 6:00 p.m. at your restaurant. Although our business on Texas Blvd. is just a hop, skip, & a jump from downtown, we will not be returning to Zapata's due to the fact that we left there $52.00 poorer, and still hungry. That shouldn't happen.
