El Mofongazo Restaurant

I wanted to walk out when I walked in but the person I was with really wanted to have mofongo so we stayed. Dark, dingy and old, had the t.v. AND radio playing at the same time. Small crowed tables, about 5 of them, plastic see through tablecoths. My food took forever to get to the table, buy the time it did, my friend was already done with hers, AND my rice with gandules was cold and flavorless. The jibarito with lechon sandwich was quite tasty and stuffed with a lot of meat, but the rice dish had a lot to be desired. We were having a pleasent conversation, when something in the corner of my eye caught my attention......a roach, crawling down the wall, about 2 feet way from us. Overall, the sandwich I had was good, the steak my friend had was over done, the rice was cold, and the mofongo was "ok". The waiter was very nice and should be in a better place to work than this restaurant because he was very good. I should have gone with my gut instinct and walked out. Take out only.
