I didn't see any of what the other two reviewee's sides. I loved this clinic upon first visit. I don't normally write reviews, but after a VERY reasonably cost visit for my small animal, I took my kitten in for his shots. Didn't get over charged, in fact, this clinic has the lowest rates of Lake Charles and Sulphur I have seen from doing my homework. The family (wife and two young kids) were helping over the summer and made me feel the southern hospitality of Louisiana, though I am normally quiet myself. I loved this location so much I shared it publicly on facebook with my friends, and a few other reviews.

The care is five star. A lady whom works at the Emergency Vet Clinic in Lake Charles works part time at Cypress Vet too. She worked a miracle on our 3 week old, orphan kitten. So much so, we were told they wrote her a letter of commendation! I would bring my business to Cypress Vet over and over again!

THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF!!! I took my pitt bull there b/c she got parvo we had been doing several home remedies for this but after 2 days of fighting we were worn out so we called and made an apt. Brought her in and after having to deal with a very rude and condescending vet we (left with no other choice decided to leave her to be treated) We gave them $600 and told them multiple times that we could not afford anymore then that. That if treatment got up to that to call us and let us know so that we could pick her up. This was a saturday I called several times to check on her and my husband went up there to check on her Finally tuesday afternoon i thought it was odd that we hadn't heard from the vet about cost so i called to speak with him which is when he informed me that the amount was over $800 now so i said you were supposed to let us know we b.c we cant afford that!!!!!!!!! His response was well i didn't want to stop treatment b.c she was doing so well.... I told him that that decision wasn't his to make considering he wasn't the one paying for it!! I had my husband pick our dog up that day and when he did , Dr. Jason Poynter told him it was his fault about the price and to pay whenever or if he could... Well now this same vet has turned us over to a collection agency for a much higher amount then the bill was.. Needless to say I wouldn't bring a dying dog to this place ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wouldnt even give it one star but didnt have a choice!

I took my mini dachshund here ...

I took my mini dachshund here to get neutered. I was not very impressed with the staff or the facility. The atmosphere and the staff just seemed so gloomy that I was actually having second thoughts about leaving my baby; I felt very uneasy . I almost walked out but ultimately decided to keep the appointment. We weren't gone more than 15 minutes when the vet called trying to "sell" other services. If I had wanted those services I would have said so when I dropped my dog off. When I told him I just wanted my dog neutered he kind of sighed and said ok like I was being a bad pet parent. Also, at the time that I dropped of my baby the receptionist asked what number is a good call back number. I told her to call my husband because I work graveyards and I had just gotten off of work so I was going home to sleep. At 2:00 that afternoon the receptionist called my husband's phone to tell him that our baby was ready to be picked up. I wondered why she hadn't called earlier to let us know how the surgery went. When I checked my cell phone a short while later I had a voicemail from the vet clinic telling us that our baby was out of surgery and doing ok. I keep my phone on silent when I am sleeping. That is why I told her to call my husband's phone; she called my phone anyway. I have a female dachshund that I will be getting spayed very soon. Needless to say I will be taking her and my male to a different vet. I do not recommend.
