Fabric Town

On. Dec. 29, 2014, I walked into Fabric Town, and in less than 5 mins, I instantly identified the fabric that I needed. The only problem was that they didn't have enough of the fabric in stock to provide 5 yds., which only led to additional problems.



The store owner said he would order the material and contact me when the order is received, but warned that it wouldn't be available until after the New Year due to the holiday season, which was understandable and acceptable.



I never received a phone call, so I followed up on the order status the week of the Jan 5th. The store owner told me the fabric had not yet arrived, and asked me to follow up with him the next week. As he requested, I followed up with him the next week, only to be told that he will not order the fabric until the end of Jan. I reminded him that just a week ago he told me the order had not arrived and he asked me to follow up with him a week later; he simply replied that we will not be placing an order for the fabric until the end of the month.



I believe that this is a very unprofessional way of conducting business. If you tell a customer you will handle a situation in a certain time frame, then that plan should be executed. If, for any reason, the business owner is unable to carry out the agreed plan, the customer should be notified instead of being led to believe that orders have been placed and that the store is merely experiencing delivery delays. When in reality they simply have not placed orders as they stated they would.



I am a loyal customer and will go out of my way to patronize quality businesses. In some cases, I'm even willing to pay more for a service/product offered by an exceptional business, instead of making the same purchase with a different company for a lower cost, SIMPLY because that company provides exceptional service. However, in this case, I will drive 40+ miles to other specialty fabric stores before I'll drive 5 miles to Fabric Town in Stockbridge to fulfill my fabric needs; I simply do not, and will not, support or refer individuals to businesses that are not appropriately and professional conducted.



In a competitive, and might I add, GLOBAL economy where customers can support businesses from across the world, business owners can't afford to operate in an unprofessional manner or fail to handle every business opportunity with care.



This review may not speak for everyone's experience with this company; however, it does speak for my first and last experience with this company.

Fabric town has such a huge selection, and the staff is extremely helpful, especially Derek! He is all about customer service, and that's hard to find these days!

Fabric Town has so many types of fabric, and linen of different colors. The store has two floors. Fabric Town customer service was very welcoming and helpful. Inside the store it's bright, and the fabrics are neatly arranged,, quality along with affordable price labels, which made looking/shopping a pleasant experience.

They have GREAT fabric! Tons and tons, I was so overwhelmed. They have clothing fabric, upholstery, drapery, remnants, trims, all at discount prices. This is a great place to shop. The only place in Stockbridge that I know of. A must visit for all designers, crafters, and sewers.
