Here at Conrado, we go the extra mile to help our clients consider the pros and cons between a major, whole-house renovation and a new build. In many cases, the “greenest” and most sustainable building is the one already standing. When building materials are in place, the ability to use the existing foundation and large portions of the framing drastically reduces the environmental footprint and embodied energy footprint of the home. A whole house remodel, then, can allow homeowners to experience an almost completely “new” home while having an ecologically positive impact.

New Construction
This is not a training opportunity, therefore the expectation is the applicant is a fully qualified Senior Superintendent. A minimum 10 years of residential construction experience is preferred. Objectives for this position include reviewing production costs and budgets, cost tracking, progress reports and setting construction timetables. An excellent candidate is skillful in project scheduling and Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Project, Word, Excel).
Demolition
As a Conrado HomeCare client, we can handle our client’s special remodeling projects. For clients in the past, we have remodeled bathrooms and kitchens, added specialty spaces like wine cellars and built outdoor kitchens, and more. Our project managers are experienced in construction techniques, city codes and permits required for remodels. Our knowledge of demolition requirements, lead and asbestos testing, retrofitting methods and integration of systems and materials, will create a seamless remodel.

Landscaping
We understand that every home is different, and every homeowner has different interests, skills, and time constraints. If a client wants to enjoy customizing the landscaping around their home but has no desire to get involved with any of the more complex building components and systems, that is completely understandable. They can simply choose which elements to include in the HomeCare Program plan they want. Just as with our custom home construction, we know that every house is different, and every client’s needs are also going to be different.
Driveways
Our project involved a complete overhaul of a large two-story historical home that was stripped to the studs, entirely redesigned, reconfigured, and significantly expanded. It also involved new construction of a sizeable stone-covered garden studio/pool house, swimming pool, redesigned driveways, pathways, parking areas, new foundation and new structural support. Among many challenges, the antiquated foundation required a total replacement, by jacking up the house; and the basement was expanded. The result was a completely transformed Federal style house: unique cabinetry and ornamentation; beautiful use of light, vaulted ceilings, and rustic materials; custom millwork, stonework, brickwork, panelling, extensive moldings and arches; historic detailing; and state of the art infrastructure.

Window Installation/Replacement
Most modern homes today use a large amount of glass to allow for natural lighting and a sense of connectedness to the natural world. Traditional windows, however, led to an enormous amount of heat loss in homes. Our energy efficiency experts can advise homeowners on the best window and door technologies that allow for drastically less unwanted energy transfer. Triple pane windows, argon gas fillers, and low- E coatings are just a few of the leading window technologies that we use to reduce unwanted solar heat gain properties of windows.
Gutters
Our HomeCare Program also offers regular service and repair for different systems, elements, and building components of the structure. Appliances, heating and cooling systems, windows, gutters, roofs, and more occasionally need service, repair and replacement during the home’s lifetime. With Conrado´s HomeCare service, we help our clients get the needed service and repairs taken care of in a timely manner, offering the best quality possible. If a homeowner doesn’t have the time to replace a broken gutter system damaged by a windstorm, or doesn’t have the know-how to spend hours balancing on a high ladder to do it themselves, our HomeCare Program will schedule, supervise, monitor completion and quality of the work to get our clients’ home’s systems functioning properly.
Residential Roof Repair
With the risk of wildfires seemingly becoming a yearly phenomenon, we also pay special attention to urban-wildlife interfaces, and go the extra mile to ensure the renovated home follows the strictest fire code safety issues. If the home is near a forest or woody area, we can recommend non-combustible roofing, windows that can withstand a certain level of fire, and other measures to protect the home from the threat of fires.
Residential Roof Replacement/Installation
Defending Homes from Severe Weather Events: When severe weather events happen, and unfortunately it looks like those might be occurring more regularly, we make every effort to help our clients. During one recent storm, a client called Conrado´s HomeCare Program at 5:30 AM about a serious roof leak. While we began the process of calling the roofing company, one of our HomeCare advisors drove over to the home with a truck full of buckets to help avoid any long-term damage to the interior of the house. That’s what our HomeCare Program is about: going above and beyond the call of duty; offering peace of mind to our clients in even the most stressful of situations.
