Established in 1968Babette made her name by reinventing the pleat in the 1980s, and has always been known for her use of creative, innovative and high-tech fabrics from around the globe. Babette's pleated collection is a line of permanently pleated, hand-washable microfiber pieces that are easy to care for, packable, versatile, and very flattering on different body shapes and sizes. Dressing for work, travel, and leisure is simple and spontaneous, while storing and caring for her pieces is effortless. Babette creates 5 collections annually, each exploring variations on a theme - comfortable fabrics designed with her signature pleated look. Babette regulars love how the clothing transitions from office to cocktail, and maybe some travel in between. Artist Topher Delaney recalls buying her first Babette piece and thinking, "This piece of clothing is clever. It's unusual. It's intellectually interesting. And I look terrific when I wear it."
