1974 Honda restoration project: The owner Michael gave me a bid for $1500 - $2000 to restore a '74 Honda Super Sport 350. I repeatedly asked for a running total during the project to ensure we were on budget. He promised the running total but never delivered. After months he called to tell me the restoration was complete and when I arrived to pickup the bike he gave me a bill for over $3,000. Once the bike was home I realized several items that were paid for were not completed. I had the bike towed back to the shop because it wouldn't start, and gas apparently spilled all over the tank during the tow. Michael called me to inform me the bike was at his shop "safe and sound", but neglected to tell me that gas had spilled and dried all over the newly restored and painted gas tank. He left the dried gas on the tank for over three weeks while they comleted the project. The paint on the tank is now permanantly stained and he has accepted no responsibility nor offered apologies. In fact, he hung up on me when I called to complain
