Founded in 1976, the Tides Foundation is a nonprofit organization that partners with donors to increase and organize resources for positive social changes. The organization facilitates several grantmaking programs and builds community among donors and grantees. It has awarded grants in various areas, including civic participation, environment, HIV/AIDS, homelessness, spirituality, women's empowerment, and economic and racial justice. The Tides Foundation offers philanthropic services and advice to individuals, family foundations and institutions. The organization specializes in grants and foundation management, institutional regranting and international grantmaking services. It operates and supports green nonprofit centers and provides sponsorship for more than 200 groups throughout the United States.
