This company has an F with the Better Business Bureau. This company is a broker not a moving company. This company, although it states on the website, is not a member of AMSA.

The reviews here were written by the company to confuse you. Please check the BBB website and see for yourself before considering this company.

My wife and I hired this company and they turned us onto another shadow company that tripled our estimate (somehow), held our stuff a month and a half longer than the Green Pacific Van Lines salesperson had guaranteed and now that we have our stuff, we have to go through a claims process as some things were damaged (like our mattress, and some tables) and some things were flat-out stolen or are missing (like all of our computer equipment).

Safe yourself the headache. Avoid this company.

Green Pacific Van Lines moved us from San Francisco to St Louis. They did an excellent job. The pre-move packing went very smoothly. The load went very well. They arrived in St Louis on time and helped us with unpacking, particularly our kitchen items. Nothing was damaged. On time and high quality with a commitment to ensuring that a customer's possessions are given great care.

The one star rating is too high, DO NOT USE THIS CO! I moved from CA to OH in 2011 because my mother became ill. I reviewed Green Pacific Van Lines, not their corp company Nationwide Top Movers or their moving company called Trusted Moving and Storage. If I had done my homework on those entities I would have seen HUNDREDS of horrific reviews. My nightmare began on the date of moving, for $1,700 the movers showed up barely speaking English, they were three hours late, they moved at a snails pace and were there past midnight. I was due out of the apt that day but unfortunately the movers “overbooked” their schedule and couldn’t fit all of my items in the truck. They promised to be back early in the morning to remove the items from the garage and on that day I received a phone call at 9PM not AM from the movers, Henry this time, asking me how to get into the garage! So I had to ask the apt to open the garage so they can move my stuff but “don’t worry everything is coded so it’ll all come at the same time” Bullsh*t! Anyways, since I was worried they didn’t have all of my stuff I called Allie to very my inventory, even emailing her just in case and was given reassurance it was ok. TWO months later, sleeping on the floor, they gave me a date of delivery. When the driver called, Zion, he was mean plain and simple. “If you can not meet me at the time I’m giving you then I’ll drop your stuff at a storage place for you to pick up” I met him and found ½ of my stuff was missing. I called Allie she said not to worry that my stuff would be delivered, the stuff they did deliver was either smashed or destroyed. I filed a complaint to be reimbursed only to find out that they wouldn’t do so. I found out that the DOT shut them down and the company supposedly sent out a letter to pick up your stuff in Dec 2012, which I never received! See these two websites before you proceed if you don’t believe me. http://www.whereisourstuff.com/?tag=green-pacific-vanlines as well as http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/about/news/news-releases/2012/trusted-moving-and-storage.aspx

The Green Pacific Can Lines ar...

The Green Pacific Can Lines are a scam. I have ad an eerily similar story with them moving my things from Pacific Grove, CA to Colorado Springs. The estimate was $2,400, and I ended up paying $6,600!! A quarter of the items never arrived. Half was damaged and broken. A couple of boxes had somebody else's stuff. The so called insurance coverage that they supposedly included in the price is non-existent as the so called insurance company turned out to be simply a third-party filling claims business, which does not pay out any claims! The Green Pacific gave me no money back to compensate for the loss, and now all their lines are disconnected. This is the second time I have a nightmare move, last time from Manhattan Beach , CA to Colorado Springs 5 years ago. I used a different company, and they went out of business shortly after as well. Why does the government refuse to protect consumers? There is nothing we can do. Filing BBB complaint is fine but if the business no longer exist, it makes no difference any more. BTW, before hiring them, I did check the BBB site, as well as all other feedback that I could find on the net. At that time, there was nothing negative and that's why I hired them and trusted that it'd be fine. I will never use another interstate moving company again. It is cheaper (and much more reliable!) to mail stuff in boxes and buy all new furniture at a new location. That's what I think.

MY RATING ...MINUS 10! Watch ...

MY RATING ...MINUS 10! Watch out! Green Pacific Vanlines Sales Rep., Becky, confirmed my list of household items using her list of weights. Becky quoted me 3000 lbs = $1549.00 from Alameda, CA to Cape May, NJ on 3 separate phone conversations. I asked Becky for a physical inspection of the household items to be moved because I wanted to make sure there were no hidden costs at the time of the move because of a tight budget. Becky guaranteed me that the itemized weight list would be sufficient for an exact price quote and no physical inspection would be necessary. On July 13, 2012, three movers arrived to move our household items and immediately charged our credit card $1600.00, which was over the price quote. After signing the $1600.00 credit card charge agreement, the lead mover stated that by looking at our furniture that we had $4000.00 of weight to be moved and requested that we sign an agreement to the rest of the $4000.00 at the delivery point. We did not sign the $4000.00 agreement and immediately called to speak to Becky. No one answered the phone. I requested an alternative management phone number from the lead mover, who refused to provide the managers phone number to me. I requested that the lead driver remove the household items that had already been loaded into the Penske Rental moving truck. The lead mover told me that in order to remove my household items from the moving truck that I would have to pay an additional $1800.00 on top of the 1600.00 dollars already charged to my credit card. I called the Alameda Police Department, who responded and obtained the managers phone number from the lead mover. The manager told me that the $4000.00 may not be charged, but was an assurance that we would pay if the weight quote from Becky was incorrect. I told the manager that I had gone through the entire list of household items with Becky on 3 separate occasions and even requested a physical survey of my household goods and Becky guaranteed me that a physical examination of my household items was unnecessary and a list of weights for my items I had provide were accurate. The manager did not deviate from the $4000.00 charge. I demanded that the lead driver offload my items, which they did onto my front lawn at 6:00 pm. We could not find help to move our household items back into our home so we placed tarps over them. On July 14th, we able to get a U-Haul rental truck and trailer rental for $1800.00 and went to a weigh station. We had less than 3000 lbs. of household goods. We drove our household items to our parents’ home in Vancouver, WA until we could figure out how we were going to move our items to Cape May, NJ. We spoke with Nicole in the accounting department with Green Pacific Van Lines about being misled with the quote and demands for more money from the lead mover. Nicole said that California State Law allows moving companies to charge 75% of original moving quote if the items were not moved to protect the moving companies from having customers obtain other moving companies quoting lower costs, to move the household goods. After several weeks and numerous phone calls, Nicole said that we were to get an $875.00 refund from the $1600.00 we paid. Nicole sent us an email with an agreement that we would not pursue litigation if we accepted the $875.00 refund instead of the full $1600.00 payment. We signed and returned the agreement. We still have not received a refund of $875.00. We believe that Green Pacific Van Line have scammed $1600.00 from our PCS move with the Coast Guard. Green Pacific Vanlines have disconnected their phones. I've lodged a complaint with the BBB. We had to open a new credit card account to pay $6400.00 in moving costs to move 3000 lbs of household goods because of Green Pacific Vanlines misleading and last minute price changes.

How a company responds to a cr...

How a company responds to a crisis speaks to the character of the leadership and those who chose to work under his/her employ. I had made arrangements to have my belongings moved but at the last minute my plans changed, the employment contract fell threw ....I failed to notify the moving company that I would NOT be placing my stuff in storage per the terms of agreement but rather I now needed to find an apartment, as I had given notice to move out.

When Pacific Green VanLines showed up to collect my belongings they were so accomodating. I explained the situation, they worked with me, instead of giving me a hard time about my mistake, they agreed to move me into my new apartment across town. Whew, what a relief, these guys were amazing, top notch, professionals.!

I’ve owed these guys a review for some time as they moved us. They are great! Honestly, they went over and beyond what they had to do, because I underestimated the number of boxes we had by about a third. When they saw this, they called around to find 2 more guys to help with the move into our new apartment as they first moved us out of our storage space in San Francisco. I wouldn’t have been happy, but I wouldn’t have blamed them for saying that it was more than they could physically do and either walk away or take a really long time for only the two of them to do it and charge us more. They did neither of those things and only charged us extra for hiring the 2 extra men. They were quick, professional, well-mannered and good-humored even though they carried some very heavy boxes up to a 4th floor walk up! I hope that their backs are not completely broken after moving so many people because they really do work hard.
