I am a current aupair of this agency and a can say that's really great! I found a great family and I'm going to extend the progrem for one more year, I think the main problem of rematches and bad reviews is that a lot of people just don't understand the whole thing, because if you find the right person or a family everything will be just great and both sides will be more than satisfied with the result.

I highly recommend AuPair Care...

I highly recommend AuPair Care - I have been using Au Pair care for a couple of years. When there is an issue and I need help figuring out / pinpointing what the actual issue is - I have a coordinator who is a good listener and has wonderful insight as to how to handle the situation.

She will step in and talk with the au pair at great length if it seems like it is necessary. The au pairs take their jobs very seriously (this is no joke to them, from my experience) and at times there is a communication breakdown - it may be minor it may be major - but the back up I get from the coordinator is key. The au pairs get a lot of help and good advice to help them with bonding with the children and adjusting to the USA. I see the many sides of everyone's story reading these reviews. My take is that at the the end of the day it is the support you need as each issue / circumstance is completely different and I am very happy at the way they have always helped me resolve a situation - large or small.

The au pair I have now, Alex, is a gem - she is educated and serious about my 5 year old's well-being as well as mine. I wish that all of my friends can get the help I get.

I'm an aupair right now in NY ...

I'm an aupair right now in NY and I have only a few days left, I wanted to exctend got everything approved and I paied the extention fee, all of a sudden the agency decided to cut me off and decided I'm no longer allowed to exctend anymore, just because they listened to my host dad that obviously was upset that I wanted to exctend with a nother family, but Its funny they are allowed to get a new aupair even tho they have been buying alcohol to underage aupairs, and the area director that is suppose to call NEVER calls and she dont care what so ever she have an x-aupair in her house that is here on a traveling visa, so she's here illegal, do the agency care? NO they don't they let the families and the area director do whatever they want obvioulsy !

If you really need help fro the agency ypou will not get it!

And now I got my return flight request and they expect me to pay 100 dollars late fee and I already paid the extention fee!

Seriously this agency is nothing else but crap !

Who writes these positive revi...

Who writes these positive reviews? AuPairCare employees? AuPairCare is supposed to be the best of this bad lot, and our experience with them has been a disgusting nightmare. Our experience with the three au pairs is that they are demanding, self centered, and focused on scamming us and America for whatever they could while giving little or nothing back. Ironically, this aptly also describes the AuPairCare business model. Your thousands of hard-earned dollars will pay for human trafficking while you and our country's broken visa system are exploited for every dollar. The au pairs have no sense of obligation, gratitude, or even decency.

We've fired three au pairs in just over a year. We've caught each of them in blatant lies. We've had them pull little passive aggressive moves like stealing or breaking expensive equipment. They'll deny it or blame it on babies they were supposed to have been watching. You'll have no recourse without proof, and if you say anything it will happen more frequently. Do NOT expect the agency to take your side on anything - they're concentrating on relocating the au pair with another family while pawning someone else's problem au pair off on you. Once they've gotten your money, you'll find they no longer care about customer satisfaction.

These girls look at American life on the internet, and come here demanding a Beverly Hills experience. We live in a nice home outside DC, but nothing was good enough for these miserable girls who have a sense of unearned entitlement. They will take advantage of you, and at your children's expense. You'll find that AuPairCare caters to this. Not you, the paying customer.

We have $800 credit with the company, which they refuse to return, saying we can only put that towards our next au pair. It's SO worth it to us to kiss that money good bye and be free of this miserable program. That's what we think of au pairs and AuPairCare.

Do yourself and your children a favor and do NOT get an au pair. Find yourself a reliable, reputable local daycare facility. People who are more than just babysitters but nurturing educators. You'll spend the same amount of money and your children will benefit tremendously from a real social experience that prepares them for an education.

You can't beat the convenience and security of a live-in childcare provider. AuPairCare is the only au pair agency with an A+ rating from the BBB. We've had great service from them, both at the corporate and local level. The cultural exchange has been great for the kids. Strongly recommend to anyone dealing with the difficult balance of work and family.

Great customer service on a local level and national level. Good quality aupairs. I have been with the agency for ten years and had nine aupairs from five different countries. The experience for our family has been wonderful. We now have extended family, big sisters all over the world.

Do NOT listen to glowing remar...

Do NOT listen to glowing remarks from people who were lucky to get good au pairs. That is not how you choose an au pair company. When it comes to Au Pair agencies and finding a person who will be trustworthy with keeping your children, it is the luck of the draw. Some Au Pairs will say and forge and do whatever to get in the program. You need to check it out yourself. Stick with an agency that allows you to review and interview multiple au pairs. Unfortunately, a lot of the au pairs feel this is vacation time. Speak with the au pair to see if they understand that her primary duty will be child care. Stick with au pairs from modest familes with families who have working careers. Where an au pair agency is good is when they have to handle problems. Au Pair Care rates low with that. We hosted two au pairs with no problems. Our third match produced a girl who felt screaming was beneficial to the children. Au Pair Care felt she would not make another good match and sent her home. The next au pair was a princess. She went over the LCC's head and spoke with the area director and lied about our family. No one contacted us and told us what she was saying. No one tried to mediate. No one told us her allegations. They didn't even ask the LCC! Au Pair Care put this girl in rematch and allowed her to fly across the states to stay with friends. We were informed of this by the au pair the night prior to her leaving. Too late to find alternate child care. They allowed this woman to break her contract and leave us stranded based on inaccuracies. Granted, when we and the LCC gave our sides, they did realize their mistake and apologized. Then when a host family told me the glowing recommendation in her rematch profile, my husband sent a letter of false advertising to Au Care Pair's VP. They apoligized and then broke an already confirmed match with another rematch au pair who was to come within three days and left us stranded. They stated they no longer felt comfortable with our family after two years with no issues. I guess, because their illegal practices were outed. I noted that all of the other rematch remarks gave glowing recommendations from host families. Yes? Then why are they rematching? DO NOT sit at their rematch table as the dealer is shady. Understand you will go weeks without daycare if you happen to choose a bad egg. Au Pair Care's rematch gives one rematch, so have two bad ones in a row and you are back to paying fees as the contract you say, "no matter what the reason." Thousands of dollars down the drain. Read your contract and beware.

Beware of agency

AuPairCare is dissappointing on many levels. Does not recruit quality nannies who want to care for children. Your fees include program training that does not prepare the AuPairs. The agency charges host families alot of money and provides poor customer service. Will look for alternatives next time.

GREAT SERVICE! GO WITH AUPAIRCARE!

AuPairCare does a great job of bringing us smart, caring and well-rounded au pairs. We have four children and my husband and I decided that it would be best to try out an au pair. We are both full-time workers and with that many young kids it only made sense to have full-time childcare. We have a 7 year old, 9 year old, 13 year old and 16 year old. We heard of AuPairCare from a family at one of our kids' school functions. They had been using AuPairCare for years and highly reccommended them. We filled out the application to get more information and learned so much that we didn't know au pair's offered. These young adults that come from different countries have a strong drive to help the family and learn as much as they can about the American culture. They are really interested in getting to know the children so it makes a good combination when they are learning as well as caring for them. Another huge perk is that our children get to know parts of the au pair's culture (our au pair was from China).

AuPairCare's service in specific is VERY good. The local support is amazing because if any questions arise, it is no problem to call the local area director and ask. They are there to help us out, so it came in handy when we were starting out and getting used to our au pair.

The EasyMatch system is so great. We were able to specifically filter out what we did not want in an au pair, and the one we ended up with was PERFECT for our family. I highly recommend AuPairCare.

I took a chance and WOW, did it pay off...

My husband and I have always been somewhat hesitant about bringing a young au pair from abroad to live with our family. After being walked through the program very thoroughly and working with Au Pair Care's very helpful staff, I concerns were non-existent. The young lady was nice enough to do the application over the phone with me and put me straight through to my matching person so that I can get started searching right away. I had applied to other agencies keep in mind, but NOTHING compared to how easy it was to get started and how fun it was to search. The customer support was incomparable to other au pair agencies and this means a lot to me, but most to my husband. Afterall, we ARE bringing a person from another country. As for searching, I could do as much as I wanted on my own or have my Matching consultant hold my hand. She was very helpful. I knew we wanted a Spanish-speaking au pair but I had no idea what the cultural differences between nationalities would be. We narrowed it down and now I have the most wonderful Argentinean girl who just adores us as much as we adore her. We couldn't be happier!

Amazing Support

In my experience with AuPairCare, I have been so impressed with the support they give host families. From the time you inquire about the program throughout matching with an au pair and then having them live in your home, AuPairCare, takes customer service to another level. Someone is always there to answer your questions and to help you in whatever way they can.

Great experience

Having an au pair is truly like adopting another family member who will always be special to your whole family. Besides providing great child care, it's so nice to have a consistent care giver who know the children's habits and preferences as well as your parental preferences. I highly recommend the au pair experience for any parents who don’t want to take their children out of their own home environment every day and who want their children to experience a loving care giver and learn about different cultures from around the world!

Overall
the agency stepped up to the plate when we needed them

When I decided to go with AuPairCare I was somewhat nervous because none of my immediate friends/family have ever used an au pair. My husband and I decided it was the best option because we both have demanding schedules that don't leave much room for dropping off/picking up, etc. required of other childcare arrangements. We needed a childcare giver that could be live-in, and the nannies we looked at were too expensive. We decided the au pair agency would be most affordable than other live-in options.

AuPairCare customer service was average to good. Their help in the screening process was about what was expected. My husband and I liked that we could go through several profiles and hand pick au pairs that appealed to us, and the agency helped by narrowing and targeting our choices. Unfortunately, our first au pair was not a good match. Although we interviewed her extensively, as did the agency, she seemed to have pulled a sheet over all our eyes. When she got here she cared more about her own personal life than helping with our children. I also didn't like the way she disciplined my children without fostering an understanding with them. She lacked compassion which made it unpleasant for everyone! So we complained to the agency, obviously. Much to our satisfaction they stepped up to the plate and helped us match with a new au pair, who ended up being very compatible (and far better than the first one). She got along great with our family and my children love her, which is most important to me. I took away a star because of the initial experience with the awful first au pair. But the agency redeemed itself when they were very accommodating to our complaints.

Overall
Great Local Support!

I've had a great experience with Au Pair Care and recommend it to all first-time families. Amy, our local community coordinator, has largely contributed to that. Amy has made sure that we feel supported along the way, answering all of our questions, referring us to other host families to discuss their experiences, and making sure we have a great relationship with our au pair by organizing monthly (kid-friendly!) events. She also organizes events for the au pairs so they are able to make friends and adjust to their new location. It's obvious that Au Pair Care cares about the au pairs and their well-being, and we are certain this improves the quality of childcare we recieve. Plus, our little girls just LOVE Domenica and her au pair friends. They are always trying to crash the party when Domenica's friends come over once a week for teatime!

Incompetent and Untrustworthy

We worked with this agency and had secured an au pair. The visa that was issued to our au pair was not in accordance with what was communicated to us regarding visa extensions by the agency. In essence the visa that was issued to our au pair required her to return to her home country and reapply for a new visa if she chose to stay an additional year with our family. When we questioned the agency about this visa situation, the agent who we worked with (obviously new at her job, condescending, inexperienced and generally had no knowledge of the agency or its business) blatantly lied to her superiors about our conversations. The agent said that we asked the au pair to "commit" to 2-years and that the au pair would not do that. The truth is that we asked the au pair if she would be "willing" to stay two years if she was having a good experience and we have in writing her willingness to do so. Out of nowhere, we became an "unsuitable" family even though we were interviewed, accepted, billed, matched and had already received the travel documents from the agency letting us know when the au pair was arriving. All for asking legitimate questions.

The saddest part is that the au pair already had a visa and the plane ticket was already purchased (this is three weeks before she was set to arrive), however, the au pair agency did not even inform her that the arrangement was off for a week after we were notified that they would not work with us. Imagine the au pair having to deal with this two weeks before her arrival. She had already gotten her things in order, said goodbyes and was excited (as we were) to be coming to our home. Imagine YOU having to scramble to find childcare after being dumped like this.

We later found out through another COMPETENT agency, that AuPairCare could have issued the au pair a simple form in the US that would have extended her stay without issue. The AuPaireCare representative DID NOT EVEN KNOW about this common process for extending visas.

Needless to say this agency lacks the basic knowlege of the au pari process and its regulations, is untrustworthy and has complete disregard and respect for both their customers and the au pairs they represent.

STAY AWAY - STAY FAR AWAY.

Florida

We have just finished our 1st year with the agency. We could not have asked for a better 1st year for our twins. We liked the fact that we could profile and interview as many candidates as we felt comfortable with from many different countries. Once we found someone who fit our criteria, the interviewing process made it a little easier to make a decision. The training seems very organized and the girls seem well-prepared. The area reps were helpful when needed. We came to think of our Au-Pair as a part of the family and are extremely sad to see her leave. For the cost, we benefited in many ways other than just the excellent child care. She would help with the "baby chores" and she loved to cook....which we loved because she was excellent at it. Our twins are beginning to speak in multiple languages. There were challenges but we found that as long as we all talked about it, there wasn't anything that we couldn't discuss and come to an agreement on. Our only regret is that there are so many restrictions put on the Au-pairs if they choose to extend their stay....it didn't make it a practical option for our Au-pair...but if it were at all possible...we would have had her continue as a part of our family for many years or as long as she desired to. We are finding it hard to decide what to do for child care now...as she will be so hard to replace.

Great Program and Agency is Top Notch

Had a phenomenal experience with my AuPair from Norway. She worked almost 45 hours every week, help with housework, drove the kids, prepared meals and most importantly became an integral part of our family. The agency stood by their program and their customer service was available to help whenever I had a question. The affordability and flexibility of an au pair makes this a great program for anyone needing childcare! A+!!

affordable childcare

I have been with AupairCare for about 1 year, I find this agency to be EXCELLENT in costomer service. The aupairs are screened and are great. The Family Room system is wonderful, it allows you to read as many aupair profiles as you would like. The support staff is extremely helpful, on an administrative level you can call the main office at anytime, but they also have Area Directors at a local level to handle most issues and answer questions. For about$330 per week you cannot beat it! Diversity is an important thing in our home and an aupair has enhanced our childrens lives.

Step out of the Traditional "Daycare Box"

As we end our program year with our Aupair we are all sad to say good bye to her because she has become a member.

of our family.

This past year has been a wonderful cultural experience for everyone.

Having a live in Aupair was convenient, cost effective, and truly culturally enriching for our family.

I'm happy we stepped out of the traditional "Daycare" box .

AuPairCare has openned up the world to us with their childcare options.
