Turntable vibration isolation PLATFORM BUILT to order when placing an order. Please ADD the model number. Dimensions and weight of your TURNTABLE. "I broke the stylus on MY turntable while moving" states platform designer TIM LAY. LAY has been involved in the audio and video business since the early 70'S. "MY early years were spent selling audiophile stereo systems for a local high END dealer in SAN Antonio. TX. " LIKE almost everyone else. HIS attention turned to CD'S and digital music starting in the early 80'S. Access to long forgotten albums was dramatically improved with itunes. The stylus broken during the move was on a bang & OLFSEN turntable using a cartridge designed for USE only in their turntables. Which were NO longer being built. That started a search for a replacement cartridge. Questionable rebuilds and over priced NEW OLD stock for a mediocre turntable was OUT of the QUESTION. HE bought a pro-ject debut carbon with an ORTOFON 2M RED cartridge. "it sounds great!" HE PROCLAIMED. MANY upgrades available for bargain turntables attracted HIS attention and HE added a cork platter matte. And it helped. Further research into vibration isolation. (PRO ject builds platforms but none are a perfect FIT for the debut carbon) lead to the discovery of a material that was perfect for vibration ISLOATION. SORBOTHANE. It is already used in limited applications on many turntables for isolation of pArts. But NOT AS a total isolation system, a FEW companies USE this material for feet. ETC. . But NOT in an approach custom designed for a specific product. Small. Medium. And large are the most common sizes listed. "which ONE works with MY turntable?" LAY asked. Is the customer responsible for the engineering of ALL the available products hoping to find something that helps? the three pro-ject platforms available are NOT a perfect FIT for their OWN turntables and DO NOT incorporate SORBOTHANE. AFTER extensive testing. We NOW have a product that will improve your enjoyment of listening to vinyl. Which is FAR better than ANY digital format. More on this later in HIS BLOG. Product description; the platform base is constructed of MDF. Which is used by several turntable manufactures for the plinth and even the platter because of it's acoustic neutral properties. The feet are pure SORBOTHANE which will isolate UP to 97% of acoustic vibration from the surface your turntable is placed upon. The surface of the platform base is coated in a rubber based sound absorbing spray material. The KEY to absorbing vibrations are the SORBOTHANE feet. SORBOTHANE is a highly damped. Visco-elastic polymeric solid that flows like a liquid under LOAD. "UNDER load" is the KEY phrase. The correct size and density for a given load is most important. TOO heavy a load and it will NOT perform. And TOO light and it will NOT WORK. EACH platform is custom made for the size and weight of your TURNTABLE. PLASTISIZERS are used in the the manufacture of SORBOTHANE and MAY react to painted surfaces like shelving. Felt pads have been applied to the feet to protect surface finishes. The isolation improvements are astounding. Descriptions like improved sound stage. Imaging. Localization of instruments. And improved bass are the most SIGNIFICENT results. Especially if your turntable is located near ANY SPEAKERS. AVAILABLE in black. White. RED. & GREY SATISFACTION QUARANTEED or your money BACK PLEASE SEE OUR return policy we have platforms available for other models and brands of turntables listed elsewhere on this SITE. EACH model including this listing is custom made to FIT your turntable and MAY take 10-20 days to PRODUCE.
